The Kicker will product 420 watts to the sub since it is 2ohms. If it were a 4ohm sub it would only product 210 watts.then00b said:The kicker only produces 210 watts to the sub, dont we want around 500 watts?
There is no single 4 ohm version of the IDQ 12. There is only a 4ohm DVC and 2ohm DVC. The 4ohm DVC can be wired for 8ohms or 2ohms. The 2ohm DVC can be wired for 4ohms or 1ohm. According to the Q&A at the bottom of the ebay item you linked to on post 146, the sub in the auction was a 4ohm DVC. Please correct me if I am wrong...it makes a big difference.then00b said:The sub is 4 ohms...
By decent, I want to at least be able to feel the "thumping" (for lack of a better word) of the sub at a somewhat high power range...
a 4ohm sub he needs...mmm yes. Not ready he is. Must complete training.DrooandhisES said:as much as chuyler and i disagree, he really does know how to put together a nice system. (yoda voice) follow obiwan young skywalker otherwise suck your system truly will.
then00b said:Alright so let me get this straight.
When I read this:
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 70W x 2 + 210W x 1
The 4 ohms is not the dual voice coil version?
And when I read that I should double the one channel's power rating since the dual 4 ohm sub can be wired to 2 ohms, thus increasing the power?
Thanks.
then00b said:So then that Kicker would produce about 420 watts to the sub?
I got the amp pricematched down to $260 from Cardomain and its $220 at ikesound refurbished.
I think the Kicker is going to be the amp right now.
