Is there a ECU chip for the Mazda 2?

You can check with Piasani and see if they have a tuner near you.

When I called dptune they said stock mazda 2 makes 68 whp flashed it 100whp . Almost unbelievable

There's no way that's right. On other threads DP Tune has claimed gains of 10-18 hp. Stock Mazda 2 with 86 whp?... that would make more sense. I also believe Corksport found very little drivetrain power loss when dyno testing for their intake. A loss of 32% can't be correct.

This is why Id like them to post a dyno with the gains and the air/fuel curve before shedding out $450

Here is the one I received from DP Tune

wow. that reflashed torque curve is awesome at 3000 rpms it goes from like 68 tq to 86ish. Now this graph you have shown its Flywheel numbers? Gains are still impressive. Im guessing the rep I talked to on the phone was excited and over exagerated numbers. He was really excited to be the first company reflashing the 2 in the states.

I agree, this looks like it could be a good option for use that want a little more power. I would assume that these would be numbers at the wheels since our engines are rated at 100hp at the flywheel.

These are great numbers but what I'd like to know is if they can do this even though I'm out of state? Time to call.

Yeah there's a lot more involved in an engine than just tuning. I don't see this 1.5 ever making 100hp/L. It just wasn't built for that.

Ok DP Tuning called me again to reply to a email I sent them... The reflash is actually the Piasani Flash they are like the only US distributor. They are sending me 2 dyno sheets via email. They say mpg is slightly better. The only bad thing is the price $450 for a naturally aspirated tune is steep and it requires 92-93 octane. So your going to wind up paying more at the pump. The octane change is putting me off of the flash.

It takes about 8 gallons to fill up my 2... 93 Octane is about 20 - 25 cents more per gallon than regular... I can handle an extra $1.60 - $2.00 per fillup at the pump for that kind of power...

Is that flash optimised for a 100% stock engine or for regular bolt-ons like an intake/cat-back?

Per them stock intake and full catback removing 1 cat like the corksport. The corksport and injen intakes scew the maf readings up and are not reccomended. The short rams also suck in hot air.

Yeah please let me know if my Corksport SRI is screwing up my MAF readings. Sounds like a load of horseshit. Derrick, did you guys ever look at STFT and LTFT readings when developing your intake? Didn't the B-Spec Mazda 2 race car use one?

Yes and Yes. We had to get the MAF diameter set so there wouldn't be any problems with the trims or it would trigger a CEL.

The Mazdaspeed USA B-Spec car which ran the 25 hours at thunderhill ran our intake as well, no problems, no CEL. The only CEL ever reported was from a small air leak which was corrected with a proper clamp.

I suppose Piasani's flash could have problems with different airflow characteristics. Maybe they should develop one that takes the Corksport SRI into account!
