personally in my opinion, i dont think any car is set to a specific gender, i mean yeah vw were to appeal to women cuz of the flower holder, but i saw a guy that ripped that off slammed his bug to the ground on some 18's and 15% tint turbocharged it its one of the fastest beetles i ever seen and in no way does it look like a girls car, secondaly pt cruiser myth. Definately isn't a grocery getter, have u seen one decked out.. doesn't look girlie to me, i think it appeals to the older generation hence its old panel wagon looks. the mp5 yeah its a grocery getter stock, but slammed to the ground on a nice set of wheels with a few mods its no longer a grocery getter but the coolest sports wagon around. Personally cars are owner dependant. Left stock i can see were you get its a girls car, but moddified, theres no telling. Like i had a 95 geo tracker dropped about a half inch of the ground it was dark purple had chrome wheels that stuck out a inch on the sides it was slammed and everyone thought i was this lil black guy when i got out of the car they were like man i thought u were black. anyone that knows me im 6'2 and white as a ghost You make the car to fit ur personality. Most cars are set at the factory to aim to hit a certian types of ppl, but with a few mods it could really go either way.

Well.. I am a female and my p5 is basically stock except for the painted brakes.. guess I fit the typical profile for the car.. lol

all i can say is every palce i go i get about 75/50 on comments. 75 women and 25 male. all say that they love the car, what kinda of car is it? is that the way you bought it? etc...if anything i'd say it a lady magnet!! i've seen 10 in two years and three where driven by women. personnaly, i don't car who drives it, male/female, young/old. it's a great car!! joe

Yeah, it does depend on what you do to the car, but I think both sides see it in a different light.

My buddies say it's awesome, has an aggressive front end, and the color is outrageous.

When women see my car they say it's cute.

The only exception was my boss, who also said that my car was cute. He's from Arkansas, our HQs, and our CEO has a truck racing team-so I don't know if that has to do with him seeing my car as cute. No offense to Arkansonians

haha atta boy. i've not ran into the girls car problem but i have had it called a grocery getter or a station wagon but that's coming from girls so ugly i wouldn't give them a ride if they had beer titties or guys driving sunfires (now that's a girls car). i think a lot of it has to do with where i live because this is a big buy american union town and there is no other p5 in town. so since i don't have a mullet i guess anything i drive could be considered a girls car in this town

please let it be known that a stock sunfire is the gayest car on the market and probably always will be. vw beetles are somewhat girly but with not a ton of effort can be respectable, by the time you make a sunfire respectable you can't even tell what it was anymore

my roommate has a beetle so that's why i defended it. it's dropped 2 inches with 18's, alpine dvd/tv, 2 JL 15"'s. exhaust and intake. it still has the tampon, i mean flower holder so i make fun of him a lot still.

The Cabrio is by FAR the girliest car out there!!
It beats out the Beetle, the Firebird, and whatever else you throw at it.

There is no way you'll see a straight man in one of those.

There is ONE exception to this comment...the Volkswagen Corrado SLC. VR6 engine, 0-60 in 6.3, one of the best handling FWD cars, ever....dont knock all of v-dub...i also like the GTi 1.8T

I love that part of your sig...It's a 4 door hatch back ...not a grocery getter. I find myself defending my p5 all the time! At first it really used to piss me off, but now I just laugh when people say things. To me it's a 4 door hatch back not a station wagon...yes it may favor a wagon but to me its not a wagon. That would be like saying that a 4 door Golf is a station wagon, get real, how many times have you heard a 4 door Golf referred to as a station wagon??? I personally have never heard that.

Worse thing was when I was at a gas station and this "dad" (late 40s) comes over checking out my car and asks "How do you like the car? I'm looking into getting one for my daughter" -OUCH!!


In my community I know exactly the type of daughter that would be getting a car from her daddy and I don't want her little snotty ass out there driving my car.

I'm pretty sure the Corrado SLC had a supercharged 4 in it. It was the VR6 one that was bad ass.(thumb)
I hate to admit it, because my wife has one and I drive it sometimes, but Miatas also seem to be flamer cars. Ever see Corky Ramono? What a nightmare.
