Is the GT heavier than the sport?

BlackMica is the lightest of all the colors.... Mazda secretly painted over carbon fiber body panels. Where as all the other colors are aluminum sheet metal. So anyone with a BlackMicaSpeed3, their cars are about 1000 lbs or so lighter, therefore the fastest of all the colored Speed3s. Just an FYI for you all curious bunch.

(yupnope)

The Bose is fine unless you plan on upgrading. I change the angle on my HID's depending on whether I'm in town or not. That plus the rest was worth it for me. I freakin hate NAVI, I know how to get around.

I was dead set on the MS3 sport. But for the heck of it I test drove the GT and it reminded me a lot of my old SVT Focus (specifically the seats, which I loved). I knew that I wouldn't have extra cash for a while to do the stereo the way I want and my GF has a MZ3 and I don't like that stereo at all. The Bose sounded better enough to go that way. Also, the HIDs were important to me as well.

I like the idea of having a factory audio system and factory HIDs so it will all be warrantied. But I can't help but feel like it is all being overpriced, I mean 1500 more seems like alot when you can get HIDs for 130 in the aftermarket.

Any real advantage to the led taillights? Are they supposed to last longer and not burn out?

even aside from the above (and they do use less power, too) you can buy led replacements for the factory bulbs - which is what I intend to do when the factory bulbs burn out

If you are concerned about the GT weighing a couple pounds more you just might wanna take a s*** before you drive your GT so it will be comprable to the weight of the Sport.

I almost fell out of my chair at work when I read that

the other added advantage is that unless the entire thing blows up for no reason, you will never get pulled over for a dead tail-light, since there's a LOT of LEDs in there, and you would have replaced them well before they all died...^_^;

What???

who said anything about getting pulled for a dead taillight?

We're talking the differences between the sport and the GT and how to "close the gap" if you will.

i was just answering the original question about the LED tail lights, which was: what are the advantages of LED tail lights?

No gap whatsoever, to me.

The sport is the deal, and the GT is taxed with accessories that can easily be installed or bettered by using aftermarket stuff.

Headlights - HID's or at least better bulbs. No, you won't have the adjustment dial in the car, but this car doesn't have an issue with headlight pointing...the suspension is not soft at all.
Taillights - Take em or leave em
Trip computer - Can be turned on in sport models
BOSE - Puleeze. The stock stuff can burn in hell. The stock head unit on the BOSE is better, though. It outputs a more flat signal then the stock Sport head unit, and thus is a better head unit to start with if you are going to build a custom system with the stock HU (I can recommend that you do this...it works perfectly if done correctly.) However whether you are running the Sport head unit or the GT's Bose unit, you'll find a processor that can integrate the signals to aftermarket equipment like amps to be very useful and important to great sound quality. This makes getting the BOSE head unit a wash, since you can easily compensate for it with a processor.
NAV option - Again, take it or leave it...for the price I'd leave it and buy a Tom-Tom or something PLUS have enough money to afford to actually go somewhere.
Leather - Well, I have the stock cloth seats, and they are fine. Leather in just certain places seems to be a bad idea to me. Especially in the places they put it. That outside edge of the seat gets a lot of abuse, and even the cloth is showing a bit of wear. I can only imagine how much the leather would show.

People have different opinions.

+1 for the TOM TOM navi over stock! lol Got mine for 250 flat out. :-)

- I love the leather though... first car I've had with it.
- Auto wipers, used them a couple times, pretty neat.
- Auto Dim Mirror with compass. Nice to have, really dims the lights of cars, especially those trucks with lifts.
- Bose system isn't all that bad. I think its really the doors that need the dynomatting stuff installed. It tends to rattle a tad when you turn up the volume.
- HIDs are sweet
- LED's look hawt.
- HIDs have auto on/off feature too. Hardly use that feature though. (Does the Sport trim have this?)
- Trip computer, could care less for. I don't even know how accurate it is anyways.

So to the OP, with all the posts so far, have you come to a decision as to which trim you're going for? GT or Sport?

no auto wiper on the headlights or the wipers... but I know how to work buttons and switches so its all good

sacril - my bad, I thought you were replying to me directly
