Is somebody giving away aluminum wings somewhere?

before you get all excited and justify an ugly ass 2nd wing by saying those race cars have em is pretty ignorant, i mean your comparing you street protege to that race Si? a spoiler only has affect at about 80-90+mph, this is the minimal speed you have to be going for a wing to provide any kind of usefull downforce

The only ignorance that I can find in this post is your assumptions that:
1.) I never exceed 80 mph
2,) I do not race my car
3.) the wing is not adjusted for differing conditions, hence applying more (or less) downforce at various speeds.

Actually, I do have the opportunity to exceed 90 mph on occasion, I do compete in SOLO I Speed events and, since the wing is adjustable at three seperate points I would most certainly be playing around with its effectiveness in a variety of conditions, both street and track. It'll probably get a few coats of Sunburst Yellow paint too! (lol2)

i think you should keep your wing black if it was black before, it might look too plasticky if you paint it yellow to match the car. or maybe if you want to paint it yellow just paint the side fins yellow first and leave the top its original colour and see how that looks.

Actually it is unpainted aluminum with black end plates and aluminum struts. I was thinking of just painting the wing element to match the body colour and the struts black to match the end plates...

(uhm) The wing is mounted ON the stock wing. That's pure ghetto, IMO. Notice how the si's wing is attached to the actual car?

and like i said int he second part u failed to quote i said maybe you do drive that fast or like the way it looks and that is up to you, i gave my educated opinion and that was it, again why I ended the post with IMO.

Now again IMO, an aftermarket wing in place of the stock wing would be almost as beneficial(except for adjustability) and would look decent.

Id hope the stock mounts would be enough but then again mazda nvr thought of someone adding a 2nd wing on the stock one and then going faster than 90, it could happen =P

I would pay money if i could watch someone just go up to anyone with those wings and try to rip it off. That would be priceless. For a daily driven car, i dont even care if you take it to the track once in a while, those wings are just the epitome of tackiness. If you can make a wing to actually look good on the car then I guess thats ok.. but I have yet to see a secondary wing that looked good.....imo.

Tell you what, instead of going completely off on your for about your words concerning a wing on a front wheel drive car, I'm going to give you a chance to explain WHY a wing is useless on a FWD race car.....

man and I kept being called a ricer for having a huge spoiler in the back, i didn't know that hatchbacks in the races put them on too. btw is that car in the pic a front wheel drive? cause we all know the purpose of the wing on a rear wheel drive car and i was hoping that there would be some justification to its use on a front wheel drive car. i guess if race cars have it they must do something.

btw i have the mintblue spoiler on, so its not really a wing on wing thing, but i think wing on wing is not too pleasant looking.... and doesn't really do much for your aero because you still have that trailing lip of the stock wing to create vacume and turbulence, if the wings were more aligned like in the picture above then it should hopefully help reduce that effect. but if you want to plant the rear end down more then either application would be fine. i dunno about the looks, try taking some pics before you plan to really bolt it down for good.

Checking your list of mods in your sig, I don't see anything that would ALLOW you to run SOLO I events with the SCCA.... What gives you an exemption from the safety rules?
