blazin hot socal my ass dude. i just visited socal. both days it was sunny as s*** outside with a high of 75. it was literaly like it was sunny with ac. lol come stay in texas for a week.

I'm sorry you weren't here for the other 363 days of summer, you totally missed out. there are hotter places, but it's 80-110 for months straight, and worse yet, the place has the worst traffic in the nation, with gridlock at 10pm on sat night, or 1pm in the afternoon. So you're sitting, burning the clutch in stop and go, blasting the ac...nasty.

still have the stock accordion tube after the MAF? check it for cracks causing lean condition. Mine was pinging, tube was replaced, no more pinging.

Huh. I just checked. At first glance it looks 100% ok, but if I move it, I see hairline cracks, like old rubber gets. It doesn't look like they go all the way through, but I may be wrong. Is that hard to replace? I saw a tube that goes in to it toward the back, but didn't see how you remove it. Should I just replace it?

I put one gallon of 104 and the rest 93. No problems here....=)

but u know its all worth it. its so beautiful there.

Spray some carb cleaner around the accordion and see if the idle changes. If they're really hairline you might have to flex it a bit to lose vacuum.

Shell is bad gas? Seriously I will avoid them in the future if it is.

shell v power 91 or 93 is good and burns almost 100%. all of chevron gasses roughly burn 100% leaving little carbon build up. mobile is like 90% and 711 is int he 80s lol. from articles ive read though...ive always been a chevron man myself

Well I'll be. I finally needed gas, so I threw chevron 91 in. No ping, and my idle is smoother. My idle was leading me to believe I needed to clean my egr, but it's better with the 91. Huh. I head up this stupidly bad, steep, and windy road to work every day, 1st gear kind of road, and it pings like hell every time. Not today.

Sweet! Now let's see how gas mileage is.
