I wanted a nice sounding exhaust that would boost my performance a little and i wanted to keep the stock look... i was thinking of being put on the list for the exhaust from racing beat.... i had my resonator removed a few weeks ago and it sounded a little different... but now that i have the aem intake my intake drowns out the exhaust sound.... i want an exhaust that will compliment the intake and not sound bad..... should i have 2.25 or 2.5 inch exhaust put in bw the 2nd cat and my stock muffler????

Racing Beat Exhaust

The only catback exhaust system that I like is the one from Racing Beat. I sent them an e-mail on friday to ask when was it going to be available for shipping and an estimate in horsepower gains.
I have not received a response.

It is also the best looking exhaust system out there IMO!:D

Hey i have seen that exhaust on car before.......oh yeah....it is the stock one for the MP3....i like the exhaust...just make sure they eliminate one of the cats....good luck

I know this has been posted elsewhere, so please forgive my laziness. :D

What are the benefits of this cat over the bosal?

Thank you for your patience!

ok, I have contacted racing beat, and the exhaust that they have gives the same hp upgrades as the other exhausts out for this car 4 to 5 hp, also this exhaust is not like the one for the mp3 because the mp3 is just a different muffler than that of the p5. just sounds louder and deeper. they said the exhaust should be shipped out in about 4 weeks as of today. also to add to the mp3 comment this exhaust is a full cat back exhaust so it is alot different from the mp3 exhaust.

Actually from what I just read on Racing Beats website. It the exact same muffler on the MP3, just uses Stainless 60mm piping and the S pipe which is section leading to the muffler. 60mm is just over 2.25 inch. The Racing Beat exhaust will probably cost just under $530 shipped and for that much I'd rather have the JIC exhaust for a little but more assuming I had the cash. Just my 02 cents.

I'm looking for looks and performance.
This exhaust looks like all out performance and no looks.
It's not even stainless steel. It looks exactly the same as the stock muffler.

I agree with Charlie, that exhaust doesn't look to cool although it probably is very effective. But I want a little bling.

Hopefully the JIC Exhaust will be here before June I'm guessing. That's the only downside to getting stuff from Japan.....time..... As of now, I only have pic of the RX-7, IS300, and WRX JIC Exhausts. The protege units won't look much different I'm assuming, just smaller diameter piping. I posted the pics in another post, or you can go to my Clubphoto page in my sig.

Who's going to jam their head under the car & scope out a muffler? I can see a need for total polished stuff if its a trailer queen show car. If i'm going to pay near $500 for an exhaust I'll pick the one that puts out the most Hp.

You don'y have to jam your head underneath the car to see the exhaust!
People driving behind you can see the exhaust.

What is the use of having a car that has alot of horsepower if it looks all f*%ed up.

I rather sacrifice what? 2 horsepower than looks.

If you wan't horsepower gains for $500 buy a ZEX Kit not an exhaust.....

Personaly I would rather take the muffler that makes the best performance for the dollor. One thing I wouldn't get is one that sounded like crap (fart pipe) That's just F'ing embaressing. I think the tip looks good, and that's mostly what people will look at. BTW, to any of the tech heads....do you think it would be possible to make a dual muffler design? And yes, I'm aware freeing up the exaust that much will KILL low end torque, but I'm thinking down the line, after some forced inductioin.
