is 4ga too big

so i'm gonna have 1 amp installed...prolly an a/d/s amp w/ about 50x4, anyway i bought the 4ga 4ch amp kit from knukonceptz and i'm thinking the 4ga may be TOO BIG, should i have gone w/ 8ga??

It's better too big than too small.

By using 4 gauge wire, you have room to upgrade in the future.

well, i really don't plan too.....once it's done, on to the engine or exhaust........but chances of me going w/ some killer bassing system is slim to none.........too old for that kinda stuff

you couldve got the 8ga wire kit, but having bigger wire wont hurt anything. its having too small of wire thatll kill ya.

Stick with the 4awg and dont look back. I've seen too many people install 8awg only to have it all pulled out and have 4awg installed.

The only issue you're going to have is rather your amp will readily accept 4g. if it's designed for 8, you may have too small of an opening. in which case, you can either splice on a bit of 8g wire, or install some sort of a spade that'll neck it down small enough to fit.

u can get a connector to step it down for about 5$ its worth it to run the 4 guage.

yeah like sndsgood said, 4 ga will not fit into an 8ga port on the amp you will need a 4ga distro block which usually splits it into 4 8ga slots
