Irritant

There was a thread around here somewhere that allowed people to post
things about their Mazda 5 that irritated them or that they were exceptionally
pleased with. I can't find it (the thread) so I'll start another one.

I have owned my 5 for almost exactly 1 year. My wife and I have just passed
28K miles and are very pleased with the car, except for a very few minor
items that would be better if changed slightly.

One thing that is less than pleasing to me is the placement of the interior
light in the very rear cargo area. The light is so low that when anything at
all is loaded there, it covers the light. I have had many times to get a flash
light so I could see to load the car after dark.

Later, TP.

There are a ton of ideas I could toss your way to circumvent that problem, but not sure you'd want to do the work and modify as I have, I even installed a glove box light in half an hour.

Things like that are fun for me, I envision what I want then I go make it or TRY to make it and end up with something better or worse, it's a 50/50 chance. Things aren't hard if your willing to just rip, cut, tear, pop off, pull, yank then try to figure out what ya did wrong. (whistle) etc. But then again, I plan to sell my ride for a couple grand in a few years. (stash)

Peace!(rei)

Lighting is an issue that I found with our 2010 5. There are no lights in the front footwells making finding things in the dark very difficult. As well, for the 2010 model they took out the glovebox light! And the single bulb light for the cabin is not enough to properly light the 2nd and 3rd rows. I would prefer at least 2 bulbs to help reduce some shadows.
:)

Interior lighting has always been a problem. I've got a 2009 GT and compared to my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there really aren't enough to cover all the basis.
