iPod touch won't connect

Not sure what the issue is but I've bought two different 3.5mm aux cables and can't get the thing to play in my 2 for the life of me. The aux input just seems like it doesn't fit the cable very well either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks

That's odd. Mine works perfectly and I use my phone (HTC incredible S) mp3 player (Sandisk Sansa) and my gf's electronics (iPhone & iTouch). Perhaps get it looked at at the dealer?

Other than making sure it's set to "aux" I can't see there being much of a problem. Do any other players work?

The other thing to check, and I know this seems stupid, but make sure the volume on the iPod touch is turned up. Apple stuff has a smart jack that can sort of "remember" the device that it's plugged into. If I plug in my headphones with the mic so that I can listen to music and receive phone calls, the iPhone sets the volume to around 50%, but If I plug in my AUX cable the volume automatically goes back up to 90%, and likewise, the volume goes to 100% when it's paired to bluetooth.

So it's entirely possible that the iPod is turning the volume way down on the player itself... just a thought.

Thanks for the responses guys. I've tried to set it to aux and the volume on the touch was set a full volume as well as half volume just to see if it made a difference but the stereo continues to tell me there is no cd inserted or no aux unit connected. I may just have to take it to the dealer. Just having no luck with this car, love it but at 200 miles rear window was blown out by a rock from a weedwacker in my work parking lot, got it back after the 800 dollar fix and at 650 miles a landscaper drove his truck over the front of it while I was stopped at a stop sign. Got it back and two weeks later my son puked all over the back seat after his hockey game because he was given chocolate milk and candy by my sis in law beforehand without my knowing. Hopefully things go a little smoother from here on out
