It's hard (for me) to formulate a relevant question since I know almost nothing about the OEM parts that come together to MAKE the stereo/nav head unit and the software that runs on them.
The "general" question would be: "Is it possible to get a hardwired solution that allows you to control the iPod and view song/file data on-screen?".
But, without knowing the exact model, part number, technical specs, port configurations, etc... I don't know how anyone could answer that question.
At this point, I'm considering an aftermarket system that has DVD-Nav and the ability to play nicely with iPod. We'll see... I'll probably wait until after X-Mas.
The iPod uses a 30-pin connector, but I don't know the layout of the connections. I "think" the head unit is Panasonic or Pioneer (Begins with "P") but I couldn't find a model #.
