iPod connectors from ebay, anyone tried them?

welcome to the forums!!!!1 don't know much about either of the ebay options but have heard nothing but good things about the auxmod

i'm using the auxmod and liking it so far, only thing i've noticed so far is that i get a buzzing/hum from a ground loop... haven't heard anyone having problems with it so i feel like it could be my install job or it could be the drive and play, getting a new "brain" soon, i'll find out soon.

as far as a comparison it looks like both those solutions allow you to skip songs and stuff with the steering wheel controls which auxmod doesn't do... yet. but auxmod is at least half the price of those options.

by the way harman kardon rocks, i e-mailed them saying i was getting a buzzing noise and they sent a new part no questions asked. worst comes to worst i've got a ground loop isolator from radio shack, now i just need another y-cable that ends in a single stereo plug.

Crutchfield sells a GLI that's 3.5mm-3.5mm so you wouldn't need another splitter. Just fyi. :D

yeah i saw a link to that after i went in on radio shack. i think i might order that isolator and return the radioshack, excess connections bother me. thanks for the heads up though.

Hi there, this is my first post. I just got my 04 used mazda3 today. The first thing I missed is not having the ability to play mp3 anymore. So after some searching, I found on ebay the "Audio Link" ($126Cad), and "iConnection" ($170Cad).

Has anyone tried these? If so, what's your thought on them?
And how do they compare to the AuxMod and Neo iOn SP?

Thanks people.

I haven't used any of those but I currently have one of the PIE MAZ/PC-ALP installed in mine. This converts the CD changer connector on the back of the factory headunit to a Alpine M-Bus connector. From there you can either connect a standard Alpine CD-Changer or use one of their M-Bus to RCA cables giving you a direct line input. This is what I have done with mine & then have just installed my new Harman/Kardon Drive+Play to connect my iPod to.

Monster Cable do a product almost identical to the iConnection, called the iCruze, that allowed you to connect & control the iPod from your stereo controls. I was originally waiting for one of these but the distributor in my country have not been able to source them, apparently then have been having some problems with them and at this stage aren't shipping internationally. The problem with these is that it treats the iPod as a CD changer using playlists instead of discs.

The Harman/Kardon Drive+Play gives you an LCD display to view what is on the iPod screen & a controller that work exactly like the iPod controls for changing tracks etc. I can post some pics of it installed if anyone is interested.

Hope this helps with your decision.
