ipod connected to stock radio

Can someone please help? I have a 2005 Mazda 3 with an indash 6 disk changer and a navigation system. I recently bought a neo ipod interface which i plugged into the back of the stock radio, in the 16 prong connection. The ipod started working fine. But after a couple days of using it my ipod now keeps jumping to the previous song and doesn't completely play. I noticed on the radio display while the ipod is working the radio display shows EX 1 with the one blinking. After a few minutes of the ipod jumping back songs it finally starts to play correctly. While the ipod is playing correctly the radio display shows EX 1 and next to the EX 1 the song time is also displayed starting at 001 and going to 009 and back to 001 - 009, etc. Does anybody know how to make the ipod always work without the problems in the biginning as i mentioned? Thank You!

yeah deffinatly make sure it isn't the ipod before you start to dig into your car... otherwise check all connections, is this a charging set up as well?? could be some bad wiring if you direct wired it...?

EX1 with the 1 flashing is for external cd changer. your adaptor fools the radio into thinking your ipod is a external cd changer..The 1 flashes cause the radio is looking for cd1 and will flash until it loads..It is normal to do that. Mine does the same thing..Now the 001-009 is not normal as mine does not do that......

I am looking to buy a Mazda 3 this month. So the adapters that plug into the cd changer port in the back of the stock 6 cd changer work with the iPod? Do the steering wheel controls work and does the song info display on the screen? Do you guys have any pics installed in the mazda 3? ie. radio screen and or where you have the cable coming out of the dash?

I just want to make sure this works with a 6 cd radio just in case I decide to get that option.

Also can you control the ipod when it is connected or do you have to use the radio buttons/steering wheel controls. My buddy has a Scion tc with the ipod option and when it is connected he has to use the radio controls in order to change songs. And if he wants to play with the iPod volume and EQ he has to unplug the ipod in order to do this. Is this the same for you guys?

Yeah with a cd changer the ipod works. I also have a navigation system and it still works. the steering controls work. the song info does not display on the radio. i bought my ipod interface from neo car audio for about 200 dollars. whats cool about the one i got is that you can still use all of your ipod controls as well as the sterios. it was very simple to install my self. it only took about 15 - 20 min. i ran the wire from the back of the radio through the middle consule and brought it up through the cup holder. right behind the cup holder there is this little 1 inch by 1inch pieace that can be removed. i took it out and cut a little notch for the wire and than put it back.

Hey thanks for the reply. Did it come with instructions on how to remove the radio? all of the cables and everything? Do you have a 2005 mazda 3? How did you run the cable through the center consule?

Also how is the sound quality?? Close to CD quality or the same? (also depending on the mp3 file quality)

Use this link for instructions on removing your car stereo http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremoval.htm

It came with all the cables you need www.mp3mycar.com

Ask them for the older model if you want to be able to use your ipod controls as well as the radio controls.

I have a 2005 Mazda 3 hatch

when you take the radio out feed the cable through the right side of the radio (left of the glove box) and pull it through by putting your had in between the plastic panel and rug next to the passenger side foot area (below the glove box) you must also remove the part of the center console with the cup holder. Open up both center console storage compartments and pull on the center console. Pull straight up and the whole thing will come out. There are no screws, just clips. At this point you can feed the wire from the right passenger side foot area toward the center console and then pull it through. I put the wire through the little 1 inch by 1 inch square piece that is removable behind the cup holders.

If I get the motivation Ill take some photos let me know how it works out.

the sound quality is the same as it is when you play your ipod hard wired to a home system, headphones, etc.

I need to buy the car first haha. But with the cable on one end you have ipod plug and on the other end you have the plug that connects to the neo box. Is that end small enough to fit through the 1X1 hole? Also did the neo box and the cable fit behind the radio when you put the radio back in the dash? yeah some pictures would be nice. How do you like the Navigation system as well?

Thanks for your help

I have a 2005 Mazda3 with the 6 disk changer. I am interested in the neo ipod solution described here and have a couple questions.

1) There is a 16 prong connection in the rear of my radio. Is this a free port or do I have to disengage my 6 disk changer for example to access this port?

2) Assuming I do not have to disconnect anything to free up a port, can I still use my 6 cd changer? Do I just press the mode button to switch between playing cds and playing my ipod?

3) The "1" blinks on the EX 1 display. Do you find this distracting?

Thanks!

is it possible?

Can I install my ipod to the amp.?
What would be the quality of the sound?
