iPhone 5

A quick Iphone question for anyone that might be able to help me: How do I get the voice prompt button on the steering wheel to not go through all the menu options and tutorial whenever I just want to make a call.

Just hit the button below that with the phone pickup emblem on it. Then you can go right into the command. I still forget sometimes and hit the voice command one and it starts going through the whole list. You can still just hit the other button at that point.

I have been trying the voice prompts "Call Name" or "Phone Call Name". It seems like it does not like me to say it all at once and will only work if I say "Phone" wait for it to reply with some prompt options and then say "Call". It asks who I would like to call and I reply "Name". It asks if it is correct and if I want to call home, mobile, etc. After all that it always tells me next time I can say "Phone Call Name Mobile" to streamline the process. Anyone have any feedback of this working well or not working for you with an iPhone 5?

I run into the same thing with that. About 1 in 5 times it will work when I say it all at once but most often it does better for me too when I say each command separately. And I find it funny when it tells me I can say everything at once after doing that. I haven't figured out if it likes each command with more of a pause between them or if I should run them all together more like I'm just talking normally. I was trying to place a call yesterday and did the "call, name, mobile" thing and it came back with "setup, is not available while...." three times and "call, please say a number" twice so finally I just did it all individually waiting for each prompt and it got it.

Bought a CX-5 yesterday and couldn't answer incoming calls via BT from my IPhone 5. After playing around with it a little bit, figured out that the “Passcode Lock” seems to be the problem. When I turn that off, it works fine. When my phone is passcode locked, won't answer incoming calls even though all the other BT features (making calls, playing music, phonebook, etc.) work fine. Seems to be a quirk with the IPhone.

I received 3 calls today with no problems after updating to 6.1 yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed that the issue is solved!

I have never had a problem making and receiving calls via Bluetooth, but the update to iOS 6.0 killed the shuffle and repeat buttons on the car stereo via BT. After yesterday's update, the buttons are still grayed out, but if I have my phone set to shuffle then everything works normally. No more searching for the wire or listening to songs alphabetically. FWIW I deleted and reinstalled my phone on the car stereo just to make sure everything was ok. Making and receiving calls still works fine.

Updated the iPhone5 to IOS6.1 on Monday and today have finally had a call when driving... answered no problem, something it has never done before! Nice!

Hey I just picked up a 14 cx-5. I have an iPhone 5 and everything works great except the texting function. I looked on a few different posts and did not see anything about it. I cannot get the car to download my messages, when I click the download messages button it just says download failure try again later. Has anyone else seen this?

It won't work, the encryption that is inherent on the iphone MAP is not allowing it to send the messages to the vehicle. I have a 14 also and I can answer yes to bring in the messages but when it returns there are none there. I did get it to notify me when a text came in but that was it, nothing in the list again. Many other phones are having similar issues.

It should work, but you have to set up the phone correctly. Notifications must be on, and set to alerts. I don't have a cx5, but I have gotten this to work in my car. In fact if you close your mail app emails will come through as well. Double click home button, press the mail app so it is shaking with a red x and close. Do not close the messaging app or nothing will work. I am in the market for a cx5 for my wife so can someone please try this and let me know their results. Thanks in advance.

Will this receive iMessages also? I'll have to try when I get home later or ask the wife to try.

Disappointed my iPhone receives text and mail messages in my 328, but not in my cx5. This is a Mazda problem which could be solved with a software update.
