IOS 5 Bluetooth & "Phone Not Available"

Wondering if anyone has run into the "Phone Not Available" message after upgrading to IOS 5 on the IPhone?

I have a 3GS and more often than not these days, the CX-9 and phone are not automatically connecting. I'm trying to figure out where the handshaking is failing (car started and phone in a particular mode etc). Unable to correlate any specific mode, (or if it was related to the IOS5 update) I deleted my IPhone from the cars system and re-paired it. Still no luck. Shut-off the car and re-start but the phone is not found.

The problem seems to be somewhere in the head-end initialization when the car is turned on. While driving, I am able to go into Settings/Bluetooth and manually "Connect" the phone to "Mazda" (of which I have two in the phone- my CX-9 and the wife's CX-7). The hands-free will then work after this procedure. I don't know of any way to rename the "Mazda" in case it's confused between the two (which hasn't been a problem in the past).

My wife say's she has seen this similar with her IPhone 4 and her CX-7, but I can't believe as often as my, as I'd be out there trying to fix hers because she would be complaining a lot more.(wrc)

Has anyone seen this problem recently?

Checked the Apple Message boards and it looks like something is broken with Bluetooth and IOS 5.......

Try deleting phone from car, then go to the Bluetooth menu of the phone and delete the Mazda connection there too. Then start the pairing from scratch.

From your post it looks like you only tried deleting on the car side.

I have an iPhone4 that I upgraded to iOS5, deleted from both car and phone...paired again with no problems (other than still no song names that I thought iOS5 would provide).

You are correct. Thanks for the advice. I upgrade to IOS 5.0.1 today and the same problem exists.

I'll try your recommendation tomorrow.
