IoN 3" Turboback Exhaust Issues/Questions

Thanks to the guys at SPD Racing, my exhaust has been fixed...Better. Stronger. Faster! :)

Ill get some pictures up later, but they had to cut the exhaust in 5 places, put in a flex joint, and reroll the muffler as it had a big crack in it! For those of you with the ION turbobacks, you might want to inspect your exhaust. Our engine moves alot, and the exhaust moves right along with it. Mine was rubbing on the floor well, and a few other places...but the crack was the worse part...it was on the top so it couldnt be seen until it was taken off. Buyer beware! Once I get some pictures Ill be doing a vendor review for IoN.

So now I have a really expensive exhaust, but its now how it should have been. No more rattling and it sounds great.

Maybe I'm just the lucky one but I don't have any problems with mine. Hopefully it'll stay that way too.

Do you have any pictures of your exhaust, especially of where it makes the bend in the middle of the car?

Mine has been perfect too. But I think I'll be having SPD put the flex joint in just to be safe. I already had one of the hangers come loose because of the kartboy hangers, but have had that fixed by having the hangers triangulated (the way it should have been done).

Good 'ol Ion! Maybe now Jack will no longer be able to sell stuff on this site considering he is NOT AN AUTHORIZED VENDOR. Heck, I have to admit I am amazed that he has left the GHL threads alone. He rips people off and makes them wait too long for product that they prepaid for. Hell, my $300 CS Exhaust fits better than that!

Hopefully the Mods will finally do something about this since there are more negative posts about Ion than positive ones.

i have the cs exhaust also. i get a rattle noise just too, but its from the exhaust hitting the crossbar near the downpipe. im not sure if you have this same problem but i was just wondering if you had it fixed and if so, how?
thanks

Since I had mine repaired It works well also. I shouldn't have to pay to get an exhasut repaired that I allreay paid $2000 CDN for.

s***, I'm sorry to hear about this. I, too, almost plunked down $1400 for the t-back. Thank God I never did!!

Do you have a pic of what you did with the hangars? I have the kartboys, but havent installed them yet.

Thanks,

Six

I finally got under the car today and loosened all the joints and moved it around until it clears everything. It was rubbing at the back of the front heat shield.

Did anyone finally get pics up with the changes they made to the exhaust so it stopped rubbing and rattling? I'm thinking of getting the t-back but now I'm iffy.

Wait until ION gets their Vendor Status Back before ordering

When i first start the car my exhaust is making alot of noise like right below the shifter or in that area. Did any of yall with the Ion Exhaust have this problem and do you have any idea what it could be because it doesnt do it when the exhaust warms up.
