Interior Light Switch

I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to wire the interior light switch(the one in ceiling above the middle row) so it can be turned on from the drivers seat. In almost every car I've owned, the dimmer switch for the lights turned on the interior light switch and/or I could reach the interior light switch from the driver seat.

all you have to do is pull the run wire from the switch to one where you want and then back up along the piller

Here's the drawing.

1. When in the 'on' position, The switch connects one end of the bulb to the ground. Disconnect this 'ground' wire at the switch. Layout your own all the way to the dash.. and make your own switch to the ground.

2. another way is to simulate 'door' open situation using the 'door switch' ckt near the door. But this will also illuminate the 'door open' warnings.. etc.

here's a diagram I found..

I thought I've forgotten to use the paint program..

here's how I will be doing it. future possibilities is to use a relay instead of the switch. the relay in turn triggered by existing switches in the dash.

For the non-electrical engineers....

Thanks for all the replies.

I was trying to find a way to do this without cutting wires/voiding warranties. I don't mind doing this type of project on a non-warrantied car, but there is simply too much electrical stuff in the 5 for me to mess with and risk a voided warranty.
