Interior HVAC fan noise?

Okay, so I've done a search and it surprised me that I couldn't find anything relating to my problem. I've driven many Mazda6's, between 20-30, and 75% of them have the same issue that I do. What's happening is that the interior fans, the ones that blow air into my face for example, have been making a clicking noise every time they are on. The other day as I started up my car, it sounded as if one of the fans self-destructed. The clicking noise got really loud, then boom. Now my front windscreen defroster barely works, even on the highest of settings. Could it be that the bearings inside these fans are crappy? Has anyone else had this noise? I'm going to give my dealer a call tomorrow, hopefully to get this fixed.

Keep us updated. I have a similar noise coming from the fan, but not nearly as bad as you describe. Mine just sounds like there is a dry leaf inside the fan itself causing a ruckuss. Its very possible that that is the beginning of a failed bearing.

My wifes 2008 3 hatch has a hella loud fan. I need to take it in to the dealer.
