If you have a LED in the dome, try this

when its dark out, look at your dome, while flicking either rear window switch to the closed position

post back with what your car does

mine illuminates the dome, about 1/10 power, brighter with the driver rear

it also dims the gauges

Not uncommon. The LEDs will respond to way less power than the incandescent. You can put a resistor (100 ohm, I believe) across the leads. It will put enough load to calm the lamp.
