Intercooler Routing Pics...Please Evaluate

Looks good! I'm very interested to see your hot side as well, that side could use redoing on my setup.

Otherwise your cold pipe looks quite similar to mine:

Put up some pics of your hot side. I'm working on it right now.

Edit: Nevermind....I just found the pics in your photo gallery.

Just finished up for the day. Here is the new look. I like it much better, I also repositioned the overflow tank per MaxxMazda's suggestion. I think it turned out good.

Oh yeah....the blue sharpied circle is where the BOV is going.

SOOOO Much better on the cold side now.
Its amazing how just a little different routing can make such a difference.

Yeah it looks mint man, good job! The one thing I could never stand with the msp was the battery and that fuse box, so I got rid of them :p. Its not that hard to relocate the battery to the trunk, but wire tuckin and relocating that fuse box was a bit of work to say the least. Also I routed the hot side up and into where the washer fluid is, which required me to no longer have that resevoire. I made a new one out a nalgine bottle though and stuck it in the bumper lol. Good thing you cant see it because damn does it ever look silly.

de nada.

What are you doing once its welded in terms of coating?

Excellent question. I have a shop nearby scheduled next weekend to do the powdercoating. Thanks to my dad (note: they owe him a favor) this shop is only charging $1.50 per linear foot. I will pick out the color Saturday morning.

I was going to ask your opinions later but since you brought it up....
I'm using black (Vibrant) couplers. My idea is to keep it low key and powdercoat the piping some type of silver. I have a Mazdaspeed plastic valve cover and was thinking of painting the bottom half the same color silver. I came to this decision b/c I don't want black piping and red is too obvious. I thought the silver and black combo would be classy and clean.

Tell me what you think...all opinions are appreciated and will be considered.

Dave.

GO all black.
High Gloss black..you will thank me later.
But if you need a color...then silver will do....but leave the Cover alone...I havent seen a painted MSP cover that looked worth a F$%# yet.

Hmmmm....I'll take your opinion about the cover into consideration. However, I love the contrast of silver on black. I've seen several piping jobs (done right) with the same color scheme and I loved it. Thanks for the good input!!!!

I absolutely HATE opening my hood and seeing the nasty battery and retarded-plastic box. I want to do something different but I'm not sure what yet.

Bravo on your hard work and persistence with making your engine bay cleaner!!!! I'm trying to keep this in mind while I do this project instead of just "throwing it in there".

I like black and silver, MATTE...not glossy....kind of ricey for me.

looking good.

BTW you could also just polish that piping and it would look nice.

yup i vote for black and silver, if u need a nice reference color, the silver AEM uses is nice. goes well with black.

I have polished aluminum pipes, very hard to keep clean.

I have always fancied brushed metal. It has a "flatness" to it that is very elegant. I would say go with a brushed silver and black couplers.
