I know how intakes work and all but I just wanna know people's opinion. Seeing how after market intakes work by a tube and a filter, theoretically, shouldn't any tube that was as long as a cold air work as long as the filter replaced with, lets just say, and HKS Mega Flow filter? wouldn't it just work the same as the injen intake with a HKS Mega Flow filter? just out of curiosity, I'm still learning about cars and how different parts work.

i think the fact that the tubing is smooth aluminum helps smooth the airflow into the throttle body. so in a sense, the tubing could matter. the filter will matter too as different filters flow differently. supposedly, the apexi filter flows the best but hks is good too.

say it with me now...search....haha I have the AEM SRI for my 5-speed..its ill..

I've done my homework by looking around. all i want to knoe is what other people think. a lot of sites that i have been to say that the filter is what counts. however the tubbing could have the same effect is some way or another right?

getting to the bottom line.....you will find that just about all the intakes on the market for our cars give you pretty much the same gain regardless of the arrangement....whether its a short ram or a CAI....the true bottom line is the looks...and how it compliments the look of your car. Personally....I like the INJEN CAI...and thus there is one in my car.

i second that, especially if you get the powdercoated ones...i have the blue one myself and it matches awesome

I have a AEM short ram.. if i could get my money back I would buy a injein cold air.. No need for short ram, im only getting noise, ya know, theres so much hot/warm air under the hood

So really, in the end its mostly the name right? Preformance is just all the same. So in the end it comes to weather its polished on the interior of the pipe or not and the type and brand of filter that you get. right?
