Hey,wassup guys??Does anybody know of any intakes that have bypass valves??Ingen?K&N?

aem makes a bypass valve, so i guess aem intakes can use them, but i dunno about the one for p5...i dont think you really need it because the filters pretty well protected

Well protected by what,I might ask??Does that apply to the SRI that AEM makes for the P5??See I'm thinking of getting a CF Evo hood and I don't water going inside the filter.

The AEM bypass valve works for the Injen CAI... Shouldn't need it for the AEM SRI. I, personally, don't use one at all, and have seen some pretty large puddles with it, without issue.

So if I get the Evo hood and water just happens to get to the filter, nothing will happen??

If you get an Evo hood, then the AEM would make it MORE likely to catch water if you have a CAI, because it's just like an extra filter that sits before the MAF, and makes it so the CAI will act like a straw with holes in it; IE, no accumulated vacuum, so it can't draw the water all the way up into the engine.

However, this also means the engine is drawing it warm air from the bypass valve normally, so you may as well go with an SRI, in my oppinion. They aren't normally drawing in air, but they do anyway, in my experience.

In summary, the Evo hood, if it lets in water, and soaks your bypass valve, then it'll get in that way, since it's in your engine compartment.

I think I covered everything! Hope it helps!

Nice!!(2thumbs).I don't know if I am really gonna get the Evo hood(more than likely OEM) anyway so I'll probably get the Ingen CAI.
