yea whats up guys i have a little question .. i just installed an intake in my car and it was making a hissing sound a little loud i was just wondering if anyone else has this hissing sound .. i know single cam hondas make the same sound but dam its a little loud lol .. if anything please help me out thanx..

short ram or cold air intake?

i know short rams tend to whistle a bit

when you get towards the higher rpms, you can actually hear the air getting sucked through the intake...

thats probably all it is, mine does that too, i dont mind...

its a short ram intake umm no it hisses when idle .. but when moving it kinda goes away if i have my foot on the gas

is it AEM?
check and make sure all the hoses are on and the clamps tight.

yea there tight yea it is aem/ diy its a lil custom but it works fine no check engine light or nothing ..

take a picture of it and your engine bay when its actually light out...

I notice when I pop the hood and the engine is running, I can hear the intake hissing. Perfectly normal...

Yeah it's perfectly fine. Your engine does breath and that's what you're hearing. With each cylinder acting like a syringe sucking and spitting air it'll whistle and hiss with a free flowing system. Stock intakes have all sorts of resonators and baffles to counter the hissing which is why you never heard it before. A free flowing system (intake) maximizes flow with no regard for comfort and noise control.
