I have the Injen CAI with a thermometer sitting in the air stream just before the throttle body. Cold air it is not. I've seen temps as high as 120* in 90* degree weather. Most cruising temps are in the 105-110 degree range. 130* or more after the car is parked with a hot engine for a few minutes.
I'm going to wrap the intake in some reflective insulation soon and see what that does to the temps.
But remember - as soon as you move - all that hot air is replaced with new/cool air. Remove the rubber strip at the back of the engine bay at the windshield that helps hold hot air in.
Probably not.

But that strip kinda helps to keep water out, no?
so i mean when your driving it might be good, but what if its just sitting there, you really dont want a whole lot of water to get into your engine bay.
Yes, and I see that 130* parked temp come down to 105* or so- which is still significantly elevated above outside the air temp.
And I did remove that rubber strip.
(with the hood closed).
