Intake Question...what might happen (aka, will I be OK)

I recently traded another member my Cobb SRI for his CP-E cold air intake. When I got the intake in the mail it was missing a lot of the hardware necessary to install it. One of the main pieces missing was the vibration-resistant mount for the intake itself. I contacted the member, but he had a shop do the work and wasn't sure they still had it. I then contacted CPE, and they told me their shipping dep. was really busy, and they probably wouldn't even be able to send one out to me for a week or so, but they did give me the name of their supplier. I went on the supplier website and searched around and found something that looked exactly like what they showed in their photo, so I ordered it. Well, it turned out the piece I bought wasn't the right one. I tried using it anyway, but the rubber was FAR too soft and pulled apart in less than a 10 mile drive.

So, now, I just have the intake bolted in without the vibration resistant mount. I'm wondering if it'll be OK like this, or if I really need to get that vibration mount?

If you're desperate, you might be able to construct your own with a stud, rubber grommet, and a drill.

But yeah, you got screwed. The other guy you traded with NEEDS to source these out for you. Don't let him pass the buck. I'm sure your intent wasn't to trade 100% of your intake for 90% of his. That's shady as hell.

i agree with kain. although it mioght be in your better interest to just go to homedepot or soemthing and pick up a 3 dollar rubber piece and make uyour own. should be super easy.

That's a pointer cone

And I've written CP-E and called them...waiting on a response as to what the correct part number is for that rubber mount. It's a sourced part, and I know where they get them from...but that supplier offers thousands of things, and I want to make sure I get the right thing. I already screwed up once...can't afford to keep at the trial and error process

mistakes happen, it happened when I bought my used Injen CAI. It uses the same piece pretty much.

I just went to home depot and fabbed up my own using a rubber plug thing, a large washer and an M6 bolt. Has been holding perfectly for about 8,000 miles
