Anyone who has these cams. What is your idling like? I installed my cams about 2 months ago. GREAT! I love them, untill today. I pulled a check engine light. So i reset the CPU. Check engine light went away. Idle went crazy though. I would drive it, then coming to a stop light and I'd push the cluch in and the car wanted to stall. It kept doing that for awhile, I got home and now it has seemed to stop. I havn't pushed the car hard latley. Any ideas????

Thanks.....

I guess the ECU is still "relearning" itself since you reset it. Most cars usually act funy after you do that just drive it more.

Does it at all feel like it is missing. I for some reason I keep having my spark plugs missing. Happened today again, so I pulled out my computer and it said that #2 cylinder is misfiring. So I took ou the spark plug and it looked like possible high speed glazing. So I wiped it of regapped it and it is working fine. This is the third time. First mazda replace my coils to find out it was the spark plugs (but had only replace two). Second time I replaace all four ( about 3 weeks ago). Today just wiped of and regapped(worked). I dont think it is because of the cams because I had them in for like 6 months. You should have went to autozone and had them check your code to get and idea of what is happening. Check your spark plugs anyway they tell alot, like how your engine is running.

coo...thanx for the posts!! i just got back in. i have been driving it now for a couple hours and so far it's back to normal. i plan on checking the plugs. i replaced them just recently. i'm just wondering why all the sudden the "check engine" light came on. here in D.C. we had some funky weather today and maybe that could have been the problem. i'll keep monitoring it.

thanks again!

1 other thing..... it's not missing. it just seems like an air fuel problem.

Are you running the J-spec cams??? I'm very intrested in them. How do you like them? Worth the money? Hows the install???

yea.. jspec intake cam and mazdaspeed exhaust cam. i decided to do the cams cams cause for the hp gains for the $$. i did notice a little more top end power. the car pulls a lot cleaner. if you plan on doing turbo it is also a good invesment. i love them.

I dont know how this JSPEC Cams will help our cars!!!
Is there any source we can use to make a good comparison between both cams?

th intake cam and exhaust cam have a longer duraton. thus alowing a higher combustion with a turbo car! (i.e. more power)

nice pic of the red "5"....igdrasil!!!!

-thanks

 what do you mean higher combustion?

probably means the fuel and oxygen have a longer time to burn up and give optimum explosive power. Less waste, more power.

longer duration cam only helps increase volumetric efficiency(VE)
to allow proper cylinder filling
better combustion is a process which requires optimal ignition timing and proper air to fuel ratio.

true, true... longer duration basically allows for more pressurized and fuel to enter the chamber thus allowing MORE HP!! not a bad thing... a good thing. a good ignition system (MSD) is key when having these kinds of mods. detonation is BAD ....very bad

sorry.... i meant "pressurized ambiant air and fuel to enter the chambers. thus, allowing for more HP!". wrote too fast.

later.
