Insurance...

My wife and I (26 and 24) pay 1350/yr for full coverage on '02 protege, '00 Dakota, and '68 hotrod. We've both had speeding tickets but none on our records. Seems pretty reasonable. The rates seem to be based largely on the blue book value of the car; the Protege is first by a noce, the hotrod is dirt cheap, and I used to have an 87 RX-7 that was like $300/year full coverage even though it was a sports car. I've been pricing insurance on for the next sports car (rx-7 or Vette or s2000 or ?) and I may stick with a 2nd gen rx-7 just cause they're cheap to insure!

Got to love USAA(yippy) , $1320 a year for full coverage on 2003 P5 and 2002 Isuzu Rodeo, 34( wife's 33) married w/ 2 kids, one speeding ticket for her and none for me, but she drive's 110 miles a day and I only do 10 so she can get more tickets than me. Got to admit thought that we were surprised when the insurance rate when up after getting rid of her old Integra for a station wagon. Demographically the P5 has a higher accident and claim rate. It's actually going to cost less to insure the new RX-8 I'm getting than it does for the P5.
Hey Greg - What's their website? Gotta see if they write insurance in NY. Thanks!

$1,422.80 a year through AllState. I am 30 ('02 P5), and my wife is 25 ('03 Ion). It actually went up this year (even though she hit 25).

Insurance is for suckas.

I work for hanover insurance now and NJ, NY, CA, XX, and MA are the 5 highest premium insurance states nationwide. In Mass the average premium is 1100 per car. I am a 26 year old driver, driving for 10 years, no accidents, full coverage, 100/50/50 liabs, living in a nice area of Mass and pay $680/yr. I've seen prems ranging from mine-3200/pp in MA.

Jersey and NY are both bad, too. They are higher than mass in prems and have more stict rules and regs. Insurance sucks, especially if you don't have a good record..........

USAA.com but you are only eligible if you, your spose or family member is/was in the military. I am eligible due to the fact that my father was in the Navy a few decades ago.

Damn damn damn!!! Actually I checked with my agent and my rates did go down...about $50. I took my payments and only multiplied by 10, rather than 12. He's still gonna shop around for me though.

I'm 30 & with USAA in Texas (North Dallas) and mine didn't really change much from
my Prelude. Only reason it went up was becasue I raised my coverages from
25k/50k to like 50k/100k. Too many BMW's, Mercedes and Lexus owners around here
to not have at least $100k property coverage.

good news

I was getting ***** with my old insurance as you can see from previous thread. I switched over to USAA<fathers insurance> and am now paying less then half of what I was paying woot woot:) and yeah the jetta insurance was crazy on the other company<Geico>.

WTF??? I live in Lansing Michigan and my yearly premium is $2300. I am 24, my wife is 21 and neither of us have accidents or tickets of any kind. We also have every discount available. What the hell is going on? Who do you guys use???
