insurance ?

Just from looking at you guys' numbers If you can switch to USAA do it. You or a direct relative have to be a member or x-member of the military, but it's worth it. Example when I had all three of my vehicles, living with parents...01 Ducati M750, 91 MX-5, and 01 Protege ES....190.00 a month. I'm only 22 and I've got one ticket, and I had full coverage on everything but the MX-5. just as a compartor progressive quoted me damn near 190.00 just for full coverage on the pro.

I insured it as soon as I had a firm date from my dealer... the insurance had not filed the mp3 in their system yet. So as far as they were concerned, it simply was a more expensive protege.

Do you know if a brother would work? Or doesit have to be like parents/spouse/kids?

Yeah a brother will work just fine...you've got to have his SSN, proof of service, and proof of relation. I think that's all you gotta have. It's gov. ins. so it may have changed.

THAT IS CRAZY!!!! That is more than $3000 a year...I am assuming that is american dollars, right??

I pay $2100 now...Last year I paid $2700 for the year...and that's Canadian dollars...

Just a suggestion: Shop around...even if you have to call over 50 companies..

Were you referring to me in that last post?!?!?! $130 x 12 months = $1560 a year, USD. Not horrible and certainly better than alot of 21 year olds. $3000???? Oh God no, I'd never pay that!

OMG I actually am glad for all of the years driving like a grandma on the streets and never having a ticket or an accident. Not really like a grandma but just never been caught and when I was I knew my rights. Well you guys are going to flip when you find out how much I pay.

Now take into account I have 2 vehicles and My house through them and have had the same insurance with the same guy my parents have since I was 16.

You Ready. $479 every 6 months

I am 25 no accidents no tickets.
Current cars:
1993 Ford F-150 Lightning (THEY list it as a normal F-150 even with my SVT VIN#)
2002.5 Mazda P5

I was just curious what it was going to be once I drop the truck off and lose the multi vehicle discount. $229 every 6 months. thats $458 a year and only like $39 a month. For full coverage on a P5. I am good friends with my insurance guy because he insures my whole family and we have known him for like 20 years. Anyway I asked him how I got it so low. He said because of the multi policy discount safe driver discount,(I took one of those defensive driving classes, also because I have gone so long without anything on my insurance) he also said that he wrote me into a better category than normal because of my record and our friendship. Not up on insurance or anything so not sure what he means. Just makes me smile when I pay my bill. Also I pay for a full year at a time so I don't have any extra charges for installment payments.

OK so by now I am sure everybody is flipping trying to figure out who my insurance is through. Well it's NATIONWIDE. Since I was 16 theonly thing I have ever had on it was when I was 19 and had my corrado. It got vandalized and insurance had to shell out about $4000 for paint and parts. But thats the only claim I have ever filed. Hey if your in NC PM me and I'll see if I can hook you up with him.

Just goes to show that taking it to the track to get your fix really pays off down the road.

INSURANCE

hey im a 19f n just got a 03 MSP ....the dealer stretched tha truth a bit bout the car she said it was a 03 Protege ES to the ins co. i dunno it wasnt much more than my 02 cavlier.. but i checked it out b4 i got the car n it was like 60 more bucks a year . BUT the good thing is im under my rent's insurance still so yeah hopefully (if** the time does come to file a claim(hopefully it never will) i wont be fu*ked on the ins part !

I know I'm showing my age here, but I'm 33 and got signed at Farm Bureau insurance for $430 every 6 months - full coverage, 500 dollar deductible. That's with one speeding ticket under 10mph 2 years ago. I found that once I hit the over 25 discount my rates went down tremendously.

I had one at-fault accident two years ago, and have a surcharge for one more year. Plus, I live in the highest priced area of New Jersey. I'm 22, male, and I pay $4600 a year for full coverage with $500 deductibles and 100/300/50 liability limits.

The collision is what's killing me...over $2000 a year on collision alone. But that's because of the accident; one year from now, I'll be paying around $2400 for insurance.

i dont know. its just an idea of mine, it probably wont work and my insurance rates will probably super high. :(

Not a good idea man, my Mom is an insurance broker and I asked her about doing this and she said no way bad idea. If you have to make a claim on it and they find out it a diferent car then YOU ARE SCREWED!!!!!

As a 24 year old male in bergen county NJ I'm paying 1063 every 6 months with Allstate. I have a $1000 deductable. I'm pretty sure they don't recognize the mazdaspeed as a different trim level because it just says protege on my insurance card. I didn't have to lie about it. I actually told them it was a MSP and obviously they have my VIN. I've also got a flawless driving record.

I pay $806 CANADIAN for the WHOLE year. 27yrs old, no tickets, with $500 deductible. That's with full coverage - theft, damage liability and all that crap.
It also gives me replacement cost if it gets totalled in the first two years.
I never really thought about it, but now I think that I'm getting a great deal. (2002 p5 btw)

There is no way the dealer can lie to the insurance company. The insurance company goes strictly by the VIN number when insuring a vehicle. Now if for some reason they don't have the MSP listed they may have just chosen and ES. But this late in the game I'd find it hard to believe they don't have the MSP in there computers. I got my Protege5 a few weeks after they came out and the insurance company already had a listing for them.

$800 / year $500 ded. It's with State Farm, and they know it's a Mazdaspeed. (They asked.)

I'm also an old guy and used to drive slow.

I'm not sure how much my insurance is on just the Speed. I am covered on my brothers 03 Silverado and my parents 03 Suburban. But the difference between my 00 Cavalier and my Speed is only $14 every six months. My insurance is $1500 per six months with full coverage and $250 collision deductable and $50 comprehensive. I'm 19 with 2 wrecks, neither were my fault
