2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
Well... after my accident (i posted it a month ago), they decided to total it 2 weeks ago...

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4286877265 this is my new baby... and boy am i the happiest MOFO in the world...

This will probably be my last thread and let me tell you the Evo is 10000xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx better than the MSp. Sorry about the opinion on a mazda forum but i had both and i know which one is properly built.... any questions ill be back in a couple days to check up

Congrats on the new wheels. I checked it out trying to consider my next set of wheels but unfortunately it's way out of my price range.

Hmm...$10k more up front, 30-50% more for insurance, 3yr./36,000 mile warranty, known tranny/clutch problems, crappy radio? Nah, I'll stick w/my MSP. Oh, and if you can still afford them, for God's sake get some nicer clothes! ;)

LOl... Ignorance is bliss

Maybe if you asked my what my insurance was, then maybe you could talk the shiznet...

It was 5,500 more than the msp new... I got it for 27,000 w/ alot of addons, last 2003 brand new in south florida....

Insurance is actually 600 bux cheaper... and this is after they totalled my car.

The Clutch Issue is a bulls*** issue due to the fact that 80% of the people that burn their clutch did it out of stupidity.... Who the hell drops a clutch at 5,000rpm on a 4wd car....
And for warranty sakes: they dont want people changing to aftermarket clutch due to the simple fact that the clutch is designed to break first.... It not, then it will destroy your driveline w/ a supergripping clutch.

And i like your line about the nicer clothes, i actually wear alot of nice clothes. Its just that day was laundry day. And i choose to wear whatever i want. Not sounding dick, but thats kinda how you sounded.

Ohh... and for insurance sakes... I am 20 years old, Single, 2 total losses, 1 speeding ticket within past 5 years, on fathers policy but car is in my name. Pay 1100 every 6 months... Which is LOW as hell for someone my age for any car... I Used to pay 1800ish for the mSP.

I guess they figure that this car is less likely to get messed up

OK, so you paid MSRP for the MSP? Wow. And I'm going to have to call BS on your alleged insurance rates. Sorry, ain't gonna happen. As for the warranty, all you're getting is 3yr./36k miles, as compared to 4yr./50k miles.
The radio sucks ass, so count on spending some coin to upgrade that.
As for these "add-ons", I don't know what the hell you're talking about. The only 2 options available for the 2003 Evo are the sunroof and the ricer rear wing.
Oh, and the line about the clothes was just a joke. I wear pretty much the same thing when I'm off work. (yes)

Anyway, enjoy your new car, and make friends with your service tech! :p

I agree with his alleged insurance rate. I believe he is now paying more. One of my girl friends work for State Farm and said that someone with a MSP to someone with a EVO will pay less for the MSP. Congrats on the new car, but be real about the insurance. I mean hey, if your paying like $3000-$5000 in car insurance, hey who cares as long as your happy. :)

Um... I thought i was going to pay more also but i asked the insurance lady... and she said since i turned 20 it lowered the MSP insurance and in effect the Evo was the same insurance rate...> She asked my insurance company 4 times to check on the rates...

Im not going to look a gifthorse in the mouth.... And yes, i will change my stereo because its the fun part of a car to play with, and 3/36 is fine w/ me, i dont plan on keeping the engine warranty for long anyways

Sounds like some people are just jealous. I wish I could afford the Evo, I looked at it before the MSP, but I just can't afford the payments for the EVO so I settled for the MSP. Maybe next time. Congrats though.

if i didn't have over head i would've been able to get the evo.......thats the only reason i didn't. I think the tail end of the evo looks gay, but i would put a kit on it to change that, everything else on that car is sweet, but **** the stock euro looking tails, and the rear part besides teh spoiler. My msp costs me 40,484 dollars and some cents after you add the over head i had. This is after interest also. So it could lower if I pay off early which i'm working on. So yeah, i'll problably get an evo as a daily driver later, and try to get the MSP really fast. I just like having a rare car that i still haven't seen another at the same time on the road besides at a meet. I see evos on the road like its cool. I wanted to be different, and i was successful. (yes) (eekdance)
