Installing Unichip w/out Boost Controller

hmm .. interesting point.

i guess you just have to weigh your options.

1) drop 200-300 on a new boost controller and run with the original tune.
2) drop 200-400 on a tune and use the included boost controller with a custom tune.

a custom tune would be nice, but it can be pretty pricey.

any use the Unichip with an manual boost controller? i wouldn't plan on having multiple settings - just one ... set it and forget it.

I've got a MBC with the unichip and i haven't had any issues. I have it holding at 10psi now and it runs great! i had the one issue with the unichip BC and I took it out right after that. The tech at unichip told me the boost controller was used for a stock MSP. I guess all the add-ons made it jump higher.

Cool, I am thinking about doing the same thing, since I have a MBC, and it seems plenty reliable.

Ive used a couple different manual BC with my unichip. I just recently switched back to the Unichip BC. I like the midrange spike. Huge difference in power.
Remember... no one has blown their motor witha Unichip installed using whatever BC they choose.

It is. Atleast you know you're not going to get some random spiking in boost. At least that was my issue.

so, i think i'm gonna pick up a TurboXS manual boost controller, but i have a quick question ...

when you flick the 'Boost Control' switch so it goes from stock up to 10 psi, does anything change with the way the Unichip is controlling the car?

as in, if i install the mbc and set the car for about 9 psi (potentially 10), would i need to turn on the 'Boost Control' switch to have the Unichip adapt to the increased boost, or is the BC switch ONLY to change the level of boost and no other settings anywhere else?
