at least for a couple quick runs. I need to buy the correct fittings to get it in there permanently.

Its exactly what everyone says..

1st gear boosts up to 10
2nd gear 10~
3rd 15~
4th 15~

sooo.. I'm pretty new to the whole boost thing.. but shouldnt there be a way to un-limit boost in the first two gears so we get a faster launch? (poke)

Im pretty new to it too, but I think that you would need to upgrade the ECU to take off the torque/boost limiter for those first two gears. You could also look into getting a Manual Boost Controller, but that will crank up the boost in all gears, not just 1st and 2nd.

Also, I know it feels faster off the line when you shut off the DSC. Try shutting that off and see if that increases the boost at all.

---edit---

Post pics of the gauge when its all done (poke)

I doubt it would give you a faster launch, it would just give you wheelspin like crazy. Be happy with your 10psi in those first two gears though.. I'll be playing it safe in my Protege at 5-6psi in ALL gears :P

Personally, I think 10psi in 1st isn't a bad idea. But that being said give me full boost from 2nd gear on!! I really hope Cobb can address this with their accessport as I don't really want to add a MBC.

Please put up some pix when you get it installed. I'm gonna do this mod first, so I'm interested to see what people come up with. What type of gauge did you get and where you thinking of putting it?

People on other "Mazda 3 forums" are already working on a work around for the 1st/2nd limit. It seems it may be controlled by some switches on the bottom. I'm with Refonbass, I don't think I need any more juice in 1st. I can spin 'em pretty well in 2nd too for that matter, but I'd just as soon be able to switch off the torque and steering angle power limits in 2nd and up. The steering angle limits may be a little more complicated since it might be integrated with the DSC braking functions.

its kinda scary to think how everythings becoming computerized. buying newer and newer cars means tuning is going to be hell bc they put gadgets on everything and have these limiters. getting past them will probably be annoying if you ever want to really build up your car.

yeah..actuators on the brake booster had the guy at NAPA confused as s***...

I didnt actually have the guage mounted anywhere... it was running from under the hood, outside the car, through my window and sitting on my steering colummn. GHETTO. I need to find some kind of gauge pod that will fit in here somewhere. im thinking where the ashtray goes or around there. maybe mounted on the steering column.

Maybe not a big surprise, but it is possible to un-limit the boost in the first 2 gear with some adjustment on the wastegate.
A contact from mazda Canada told that to me, but I don't know how to do this unfortunately, I'm new to turbo world too! :)

But the secret is the wastegate! wondering were this part is located....

I don't know why anyone would want to have the full boost in first or even second unless you gonna have really nice tires as to hook up instead of just spinning like crazy. Other people have to spend big money on dual boost seting ebc's to lower there boost in first and second so they can launch, our cars do it stock and we're unhappy about it? And we may need a new ecu or simply find the bleed valve or whatever they used on the wastegate that bleeds off.

Its good and bad... Im looking to put huge sticky tires on this spring so I want to be able to launch all I can...Thats with stock power though, on upgraded power it might be better limited, and with the stock tires it def is better since their only 215, but dont be fooled they grip pretty decent. Where are you planning on mounting it? I was thinking if I could stick it where the Left vent is......Possibly, or somewhere else, I know that I wont be hacking into the dash to fit one though.....like some kits outthere

the wastegates the mushroom looking thing down sticking of the turbo right corner

You could always have me make you a custom pod....Youd be the first with some sweetness in your MS3 (glare)
