Installed my HKS BOV today, few question/concerns

Well, first off, I got the BOV from a friend who had it on something else, so I had to get he flange and recirc valve. The first thing I noticed is the flange doesn't seem to be the same shape as the other one, but looks like there are 2 different ones, the CPE that is and the other HKS that isn't. I got the c clamp in and locked it down, but it still kinda spins freely. It won't pop out of the flange cause I tried pulling it out, but I would have thought it would fit tighter. Secondly, the stock clamps on the tubes aren't even close to keep the tubes tightly on the back side small tube and the recirc valve. Is it normal to have to use the tighten down hose clamps, or should these just swap over? I was thinking the nipple on the back of my HKS was smaller or something, but I see several others that are like that. SO, now I have to go to the store and get the hose clamps. SO, 2 concerns are, how do I know if the bov is seated in the flange, and the hose clamps, do you normally have to use them. Thanks!!

there should be an o ring between the bpv and the flange. dont be worry about it rotating so long as you cant just spin the thing.

the vacuum line and the recirc line on the HKS are both a little smaller so you do need to torque both down a bit more with hose clamps.

I have the cpe flange it shouldnt spin at all if its similar design. I didnt have the ring seated all the way at first and it was possible to rotate the valve so I used a very small flat head and hammer to get it all the way in. It says in cpe's instruction its not right if it spins but who knows maybe ur flange is different. GL

You are absolutely correct!!! Mine spun to freely and concerned me, but I coudn't pull it out so I figured good to go right? Wrong! I bolted it up and took it out for a test drive and just as I laid into it it popped and the car quit. I blew the BOV right out of the flange. So, it wasn't seated, and now I need to go purchase another o- ring so I can do it properly. Anyone try a little thinner o-ring, or is the big fat one needed lol.
