installed JBL GTO 329 speakers in the dash of my 2013 cx-5

only better sound no volume decrease...whatever speakers you choose make sure they have a less than 8 watt minimum handling capacity and they will
be fine

Thanks! Found some more info on CX-5 Bose. Finally ordered 3-1/2 Polks for the dash.

I am looking for a good rear door speaker replacement and not sure about the mounting depth. You replaced rear doors speakers with 6-1/2's, if I am not mistaken, what model did you go with?

Installed one of the polks in the dash, it sounds at least twice quieter than the stock bose, so will have to go your way and replace with 2 ohm speakers - either JBL or Infinity (should have done it in the first place)

so you know...the jbl has a small black collar that must be removed from around the speaker cone for these to fit...I had no problem removing this collar but if you don't want to mess with it...both JL and Infinity make terrific speakers

To those that own the GTO329 3.5", how do you like them?

I'm looking for a 3.5" coaxial, will high-pass x-over around 300/400hz; I do not like harsh "bright" tweeters so the fabric-tweeter diaphragm (3/4"?) might be ok... not much decent choices for 3.5" sizes.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I take it to remove the top-mounted protruding collar is easy? Does it simply snap off somehow? Neither the official JBL spec sheet, or owners manual (downloaded online) mention how to remove it. I need to remove it in order for it to fit in my car.
