Installed Boost Guage, Stock MSP, and a little surprised

BrianV,

Did you used to own a Maxima by any chance?

About the boost...mine also spikes to 8psi and droppes off to about 7psi. I have a Downpipe on though. Before the DP it used to stay at about 7psi

That's what I though....I remember you from maxima.org . I used to have a 99 max se 5spd as well. Traded it in for the MSP :)

Which car do you like better? The Maxima was definitely built better and faster, but the MSP handles like a dream.

Everything I hated about the Maxima I love about the MSP, and everything I hate about the MSP I loved about the Maxima.

It's good to change sometimes.

Well,

I think the 5th gen max is built better than the MSP not the 4th gen. But if you put a suspension like the one in the MSP on the max I'm sure the build quality would feel like it does in the MSP. I'm all about suspension, therefore I like the MSP much better. I had bad luck with the suspension on my max, try different things with no success. Getting the MSP was such a releave.

yeh i heard most msps hit max psi at around 4k and then it drops as the ecu dumps fuel in high revs......ill see what mine does when i get my gauge in.....

I didnt read the rest of the post, but the fuel map has nothing to do with boost... Now the effects the fuel map has on the exhaust gas spinning the turbine, and ulitmately how the wastegate keeps up with this, will determine boost. Also, the stock BPV leaks ALOT of boost.
Ask anyone who runs 10+ psi on the stock BPV. Its very unstable, and shaky....

Mine stock boost car registered a tiny spike to 7, then fell off to about 5.5psi.
