finally am getting around to putting it on! i've had it for a while, just was gonna put it on in the summer. did anyone have to drill to move the resivour or did you escape with some other method that didn't require drilling? I'm looking to alternatives to drilling, I don't wanna **** up my baby  any advice on the injen mp3 cai install very helpful. i did a search, only 4 results :-/ who else has it? how hard was install? (getting cone on, too, etc)

thx

if you pull the drivers front fender well, you dont need to get under the car either, just fold it back from the bumper, and fish the filter through there, and tighten.

the injen SHOULD come with two twisted brackets, one to move something near the throttle body, and the other can be used to hang the coolant overflow from the radiator support bracket.

good luck.

no need to drill, just some creative placing of the coolant tank attached to the goldish piece have it almost touching the front of the car...I had never worked under the hood of a car before installing mine. It took about 90 mins and works/looks great.
good luck!
I'll try and take a pic for you and post.

Exactly. It's not a direct science. My Injen CAI kit came with a bracket so I could attach the overflow reservoir to the radiator, but I guess my reservoir didn't have a mounting whole that others do (like the one in the Injen directions) so I just took the gold bracket that held the reservoir before and, using the holes that were left from removing the stock intake, I experimented and figured out the best hole to mount that gold bracket with. You'll figure it out once you're into it.

And yeah, about the Cone filter, so easy, like it was said. Just cock your wheels out and unscrew and remove as much of the wheel well panelling as you want. I think I undid some 8 screws and had no problem reaching in there.

hey cbcbd
do you have a pic of you relocation of the reserior?also i can"t take off the stock nut from the purge control valve,in order to install the inculded bracket . Can you help me on this?

i hope that shows up (unless they don't allow linking of their images).. see the coolant reservoir up front hanging off the radiator..

I installed my INJEN CAI about 6 weeks ago. I moved my coolant reservoir to the same location as in fkmp5's pic. I was worried it would fall and break, because it seemed flimsy. So far though - no problems.

If you instructions came with some bad pictures in it - note that one of the pictures is taken from the passanger side, looking across the car's engine bay along the firewall. It has to do with when you relocate ????(something by where the CAI meets the engine). It took my friend and I 20 minutes to figure out the angle on the pic!!!

I saw this pic before, BUT for some reason my Coolant reserior is NOT the same as pictured. I don't know why. Anyone with this problem?? also that nut on the purge control valve is unbelievable tight anyonw with tips on looseing this nut,in order to install that injen bracket??? Thanks

using the twist brackets reconnect the coolant tank to the raidator support bracket u have to find a longer bolt the ones they gave me weren't long enough but it was a pain though

ok, I know I'm bringing this from the dead but I need help with the plug coming from stock pipe that has a slit in it. I need to know how and where it will connect to. As for the coolant reservoir, I need a better picture since my Injen Intake didn't come with instructions and I just improved my way until it fit like the picture. Any help would be appreciated.

I am moving the Coolant box tomorrow but I don't know what to do with that 1 plug that plugged into the stock rubber piping yet it isn't a sensor.
It looks like a metal plate with 2 pipes connecting to it and that picture doesn't show it. It is the pipe that is directly from the engine toward the MAF sensor.

are you referring to the intake air temp sensor? looks like a cone with a small ball at the end?

it was underneath the strut bar and there was a slit on the stock piping to stick it in but there wasn't a hole inside the pipe showing it was a sensor.

talking about this thing under the strut bar?
