Hi guys,

I have been away from the forum since I sold my can in November and since I moved to Italy.

In the near future I might be coming back to the US and I might be moving to LV.

Since you guys have always been so helpful, do you guys now a nice, quiet area not too far from the center that has decent price apartments for rent?

I am asking you guys because you will know for sure.

Thanks for the help,

What is your budget man? And what are you looking for?

That would give a better idea of areas.

I actually work for a property management place. So you would be suprised how close people are to renting a house instead of an apartment...unless you want 1 bedrooms.

Nice, quiet area? Summerlin is really nice and quiet, im not too sure about prices tho, let's just say, you get what you pay for here..

Other than that...

There's Seven Hills, really nice neighborhood.. again, prices arent SO cheap..

Sorry if this doesnt help much..

Peace,
RJ

LOL....RJ did name the nice places....lol....but Summerlin and Henderson can be pricey.

Not really apartments out by me, but I live in Mountains Edge, which is really on the outskirts close to the town of Blue Diamond....but I can still get across the valley in 1/2 hour....1 hour in rush hour.

Guys,

I would think the budget could be 800-900 a month.
I used to live in michigan and I only lived in apartments.
If house there are a bit cheaper than here for renting that is one good thing.

Sorry if I was not too specific.

I just would like a quiet safe area.

Thanks guys

As far as location, safety and somewhat good prices, try the southwest part of the area within the 215 beltway. Areas like Flamingo & Durango have some nice apartment complexes and are only a small hop away from the strip. If you thinking of buying, affordable new condos in a good area can be found in the new North Las Vegas area. We're are talking under 200K here, which is the best value if you don't want to go somewhere ghetto.
Average rent is around $850 for a two bedroom apartment. I would avoid areas that have one apartment complex after another, as the bad elements tend to find each other and cause problems.
Also, I would avoid anything in the NE, E and central part of town.
I imagine shalezoom3 would know more specifics.

Also, Las Vegas has a sizable Italian-American community, many of them transplants from east coast cities. There is also a local italian american newspaper and a San Genaro annual festival

Thanks guys for your help.
When I move I will let you know definitively.
But I do not think that I will buy another Mazda.

Thanks

www.realtor.com Check it out and select rentals and put in either Las Vegas, NV or Henderson, NV. I live in Seven Hills and yes it's quiet but you hear the airplanes from the Henderson Executive Airport all the time so it's not all that. For $850 a month your probably not going to find anything that super nice. Do your homework and find where you are going to live, trying to get across town during rush hour is a b****. I used to drive from Henderson to behind Lone Mountain (all the way across town) and some nights the drive was about 45 minutes, others were and hour and a half and the stress from the driving is the worse part (bad drivers in Vegas). Anyway, best of luck on your search. If your looking to buy a house let me know I have the hookup since my father is not only a Realtor but also a Mortgage Broker as well. One stop shopping.

Guys,

I think it might definitive. I will be coming to LV.
I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the help,

let me know if you want to talk to a realtor or mortgage broker, I'll put you in contact with my dad who will take good care of you. Even if it means looking for a rental he can help you out.

Good Luck on the Move!!

Guys,

What about the weather in Nevada? Is it warm all year around?
How do you manage the heat issue with the turbo vehicles (intercoolers are still efficient with the Vegas heat)?
I am wondering since I will have to buy a car and I know that there is not exactly like Italy.
Also, how is the comunity about race track events, cruises, ....
Are there some nice twisty roads?

Sorry if they sound dummy questions...

Thanks

Turbo cars are fine out here....I have a couple buddies running FI and they have no problems.

Its 70-80s right now...and should warm up pretty quickly. Alot of people don't know it...but Fall Oct - Feb / Early March can get F*cking cold!! lol.

But come summer time you will enjoy and cherish your A/C..lol.

i moved out here from kali.. its alright.. takes a little bit of time to get used to things... the weather of course... it is extremely hot sometimes and then it gets pretty damn cold during the winter...

i pretty much moved out here for my boyfriend and cheaper stuff... school is cheaper... and well another thing i found GREAT about this place was the vegas mazda scene... i love it...

we do have the stupid drivers on the road... i guess since so many people are from different parts of the nation... everyone drives differently... but thats just one of the things that drives me insane here and the rice drivers! heheh you just gotta be agressive and very cautious of whats going on around you thats all... i got used to it... i drive differently here than i do in california... extremely different... ummm...

yeah we have a pretty good track... we hold cruises... and autox! hehe there is still rice out here in vegas.. but eh they dont matter no one gives a s*** about em anyway... but yeah i think you'll have a pretty good time out here.. there are just some things to get used to! hehe i dont mind it but i guess i miss home too thats why i kinda see all the bad things about here... which really isnt that bad... i just compare and contrast alot! heheh hope you have a good move... and im sure you'll enjoy it out here... we all have our pet peeves about vegas... but who doesnt about all other places right?!

looking forward to meeting ya!

I was born and raised in Las Vegas and I can tell you this, summer time can get up to 115+ and dry as hell. If your used to humidity in Italy, well forget about here in Las Vegas, this is one dry ass place to live. If you have allergies then your not going to like it here when the wind blows, there are a lot of mulbery trees and others that will cause your sinus' havoc. Anyway, the winters are cold, and if anyone told you it doesn't snow in Vegas, then show them this:

As far as turbo cars and how they run, get a front mount otherwise anything like an STI or the MS6 is going to get hot no matter what, and intercooler on the top of a motor and in the middle of summer, yeah, doesn't work out to well. Even my MSP didn't do well with it's side mount but that thing was way to small that it wasn't efficient enough to begin with. Anyway, if you live in Henderson there is a park within 1 mile of every home, well that's what the plan is anyway.

If you were looking to buy something turbo, go for it. The weather cools down nice around here for quite some time and turbo cars love it.

Just my 2 cents.

Wow, I was just browsing in here and saw that you live in the same place as my mom...Mountain's Edge - Chaco Canyon Bonito...It's in the process of being completed by the end of this month.

I can't wait to move back...I lived near Hacienda/Decatur about 5 years ago. I'm sure alot has changed since I lived there. Anyways, I don't mean to hijack your thread...

Make sure you hit me up when you come back....Mazda 3 FTW!. I am way on the west side of Moutains Edge....Treo South.

Before I moved out in MEdge I used to live off Lindell and Hacienda..lol. Small world.
