I was wondering if anyone has tried to fit a set of Infinity Kappa 10.9T tweeters in the sail panels of a 2003 Protege5. I've read that the Reference 1021T tweeters will fit, but I can't find anything about the Kappas.

Thanks in advance for your help!

well anything can be done! but is it worth the work....

how big are they?

I'm not sure how big they are. The only thing I can find online is how big they are with the Infinity mounting materials, and I know that won't work. No one lists the size specs without the mounting hardware.

i have the infinity kappa perfect tweeters in my oem sail panels they fit without modding the panel.

Thanks for the info! I figured they would fit without the mounting hardware, but no one lists the specs on just the size of the speakers without the mounting hardware.

That's twice you've bailed me out with the info I needed. Thanks again!

there's sooooo much better stuff out there than infinity for the same/less/slightly more.

I feel like they're the bose of the Aftermarket Audio Bestbuy/circuit city crowd. Yes, you're getting a good product, yes you're paying 4x what you should be. Yes there are much better products out there.

I bet you can find a full set of component speakers for $75 more than what you would pay for those tweeters.

I reccomend hunting down a used pair of Diamond audio hex series components.

I have massive audio ct1a tweeters that i bought for $35.

Yeah, there are a lot of options, but I'm big on only buying something that I have actually heard... and there aren't many places with a big "car audio" display anymore (at least with anything worth listening to). Infinitys were the best I was able to demo in person so I went with those in the doors. I want to stick with them for the sail panels because I know they will respond to the EQ in a similar fashion to the door speakers.

I miss the days when there were a lot of options for demoing car stereos and speakers. I suppose it's the price we pay for taking advantage of cheap prices online.
