Indiglo Gauges Can Blow Me

I read all the post and the indiglo set I got was from procarparts.com. I did have to remove the needles, the hole was way too small. Now I have not fuel or temp gauges, and I did not even attempt on the speedo or tach. So I still have the factory gauges. I am thinking that the speedo and tach needles remove easier than the fuel and temp gauge needles, because those seem to be what everybody is breaking. I did not try the speedo and the tach, because for me those are a little more important than the fuel and temp gauge. I can tell by the way the car drives if it is hot or not and I can tell how much fuel I have because the fuel light will come on when it is low.

How in the hell do the needles come off. Do you just pull them strait off, or is there a speacial tool that I need to pull them off?

OH MY GOD DO I KNOW HOW U FEEL. Same exact thing. $400.00 for guages... IF you call them, they say, we dont guarantee work that you do. My lawyer is talking to them.. You want his number. some people would say that we should get over this but i am soooo tired of getting screwed by piss ants that have no f(#$*(#$*&ing clue about the products they promote.

You are the types that blame Kenwood when you scratch your dash installing one of their stereos. That's the chance you take when you don't have the right tools for the job, don't hire a trained and insured professional, and try to modify your car yourself without having a clue what you are doing. Your lack of knowledge isn't procarparts.com problem!

I am not only a trained professional, I also have done the gauge removal many times on numerous vehicals. I was a installer at circuit city and was trained in car audio. I also worked at a performance shop for three years. So before you post bullship comments, try to use your brain first. The part that the other guy was so upset about was the fact that the gauges procar parts sell say to slide them over your needles. This indeed is impossible. You have to remove the needles. It might be the case in most cars, I.E. the ones I have done, but ous have a extended black housing that makes the removal nessasary. So for them to say thats all that has to be done is very misleeding. They should investigate more and see what actually needs to be done before promoting an easy install. It is almost not worth risking and if they advertised how hard it really is not many people would buy them. That is called false advertising. I am not a person who sews anyone, nor will I ever, but this type of thing will make some people question it. I do dissagree with the lawsuit to Mazda for the radio thing, I think that was stupid. No offense to the people who tried to do it, but you guys knew what you were buying, and I am sure most of you saw it before you signed the papers. I have also removed needles in other cars, but for some reason our needles seem way more fragile. I took more time and finished the job, recalibrated my tach and speedo too. You just have to pry at all sides evenly and take your time. be prepared to spend 5 minutes or more on each needle. To not strain or pull hard, once you do this it causes the needles to flex and break. Mine are fine now. As for the fuel and temp gauges, I used some superglue and glued them in place until I can get around to repair them.

When I say to pry at all sides evenly I mean it at the same time. If you do it one side at a time you will snap the needles. just use you thumb and index finger, or two hands and pull strait up. But take your time.

I did the same thing. I knew the risk when I got it done, but as far as false advertising, I agree that they did indeed advertise falsely, and should be held liable. I do what I want to MY car, and do so when I am aware of the risk, and am responsible enough to pay up when things go wrong. LT1 anc cfbjr, you are the types that feel good only after ******* with someone about something. Time to reconsider how you approach people on this board. As far as I know YOU TWO attacked Jag 1st. We are all here to get along, and to exchange info. It doesn't help when you take this approach. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but please try not to become assholes!

I use the word *** as in dork or butthole. I'd rather not curse on this board because I consider everyone here my friend. My original post was not to say I am gonna sue anyone or I was mad at procar parts, or even that I was gonna call and gripe them out. I did research, if you would have read my post. I new the consiquences and I did it anyway. I just was not sure if procarparts was the same as all the other kits the guys were installing. I ordered them just to see. When I recieved the box it said and showed a picture on the box to just slide over the needles, that is bullcrap, that is all I am saying. Before you come on this board doggin me review all my posts, I have been a member since september and have been here only to supply usefull infromation. I could give a rats butt if I screwed them up or not I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Then I made this post as a warning to others who try to install them. Also there were poeple on this site who had taken theirs to a performance shop to get it done and the people at the performance shop broke their needles also. I just want to say it does not take a roket scientist to work on a car. I have done all the work on my own cars including motor swaps. This guage install is not much harder than puttin a neon on you car. Its just that our needles are flimsy and break easy. I did want to offened anyone nor get critcized for trying to give valuble information.

Please quit acting like a ahole and get over yourself!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey linux thanks for the backup, I just don't understand some people, I am just hear to help out. I am not mad at procarparts or the other people, just frustrated at how the whole advertising thing goes.

This was the item I was referring to. Jag, you need to get over yourself! I wasn't even talking about your statements. If that's the way YOU are then I'll be glad if you didn't look at my posts!

I had the tool and it didn't work. i do know what I am doing. Now a lot of people on this board want indiglo guages, if you are good enough to guarantee your work, I would be happy to buy another set and let you put them on.

The problem with procarparts.com is that the guages do not fit our car. the inability to get them installed was just an added bonus. My problem is that they sold me guages that are not compatible with my car. Like someone stated earlier, the holes are way too small.
