bolt pattern is 5 X 114.3

yeah, i need to get winter rims and rubber too, last year i had the luxury of a garage, this year...not so fortunate.

is there a cheaper solution, the rims and tires are gonna cost like $800. I cant afford that shiznit. I found some $90 rims and am looking at the Artic Alpine tires.

hey..
personally, if you can't afford those name brand winter tires..go with the no name brands. i'm telling you, i've used crappy 'wal-mart' tires and they seem to best in snow. They have deep treads for a good 'paw' action. Artic alpins seem to be a good snow tire as well, but for the $ it's expensive and they don't even have deep treads.
Take this advice - ' the worse winter tires are better than the best all-season tires'.

go with the thinnest width of a snow tire too! they will work best.
I'm looking for 185/65/15 for my upcoming Mazdaspeed Protege.

check the authorized forum. there is some guy (ilperformance) or something. seeling wheels AND tires for 330 for 15's and 400 for 16's.

Limited Edition is right. I have some cheap Matador tires on 14" rims and they work realy fine!

I paud under $500 (canadian) for the 4 rims and the 4 tires!!!

Stou?.
14" fit??.yeah right!!!.
So i should be looking into 175/75/14?
hahahaa..
super high wall tires!!!.
it's going to be a monster truck!

Yes, 14" fit very well. It's less expensive and it work very well in the snow.

I found that my 14" winter wheels are lighter than our Racing Hart wheels and it make a difference on the driving. I don't know how to write that in English but the car fell lighter on acceleration.

There's a significant difference because of the weight...... maybe I'll look for lighter mags next summer.......

Limited Edition, I prefer to say that my car look more like a rally car than a truck. For the winter I installed back my original hood and I have winter wheels with regular rims without any cap..... it's ugly!!! I'll post a picture later!

tire size

Actually I too have 14" rims with p185/65R14 (Protege se tire size) and stou is right. The car does accelerate faster. However I think that it is because the wheel diameter is smaller than the 17" wheel (about an inch). It is just like having a higher diff ratio.
;)

I don't remember the tires size but the 14" wheels are exactly the same diameter than my 17" wheels.

This is realy the weight that make the difference. Our Racing Hart wheels are very heavy.

lmao, what a worthless tire size. Heh, too bad that is the stock tire/rim size of a pontiac sunfire, haha lmao, worthless car.

Why is my tire size worthless?

I'm talking about the 175/75/14 tire size, you didn't even say you tires size, how would I know it's worthless, it sounds stock to me.,

Hey Equinox, why are you saying that the 14" are worthless? :wtf:

They work realy well in the snow and who care if it's 16", 15" or 14" tires. On regular black rims, the look of the 16" is the same as the 14"..... this doesn't look good. The 14" wheels and tires are a lot cheaper than 15" or 16".

You don't have snow in Texas but here we got a lot. If we don't want to scrapped a good set of mag, we don't have the choice, we put some cheap rims on our cars.

Maybe if you live in an area where you don't get lot of snow, it worth to put some snow tires on mags but here if you put some mags for the winter, with all the salt, sand and rock on the streets, your mags will realy look bad after the winter!!!

So I don't think it's worthless!!!
