Don't bother with the FS-ZE bro. Without the J-Spec ECU (which is nearly impossible to get) its worthless. If you want power, you can either go NA, or turbo. It was widely believed here for awhile that NA had no promise, but I don't think thats the case anymore. If you got the standard intake, header, exhaust and then custom ground cams, adj. cam gears, HC pistons, and then a piggyback to tune it (such as the one perfworks on this board is making) you could probably get 180-190hp at the crank.

If you want turbo, go take a look at the Forced Induction section :).

It's laser blue, they have a pic up on the site, and it's def, an mp3. Go to vansmitsubishi.com here's what it says Description:

MP3 KENWOOD STEREO, ALLOY WHEELS, ONE OWNER!

Features:

Air Conditioning Automatic Transmission
Front Wheel Drive Power Brakes
Power Steering Power Windows
Tilt Steering Wheel

Yeah, well it's not Auto. You can get that price down though. I paid 11850 before taxes and mine had 36K. I'd definitely jump on that though!

What if the guy got the transmission changed or something? I dunno, but i hope you're right cuz that's only 30 mins away from me.

Nobody on this board has been able to swap from a manual to an auto or vice versa. Believe me, we see a fair share of "I want to switch my auto to manual" posts and its ridicuously expensive to do so. So if its an auto, I'm going to stand firm and say its NOT an MP3. No MP3 ever came auto, and the chances of somebody having the 5-6 grand to convert it is very low.

You'll be able to tell if its an MP3. Look for the wheels, front bumper, side skirts, rear skirt, wing, racing beat muffler, red racing beat swaybar, yellow strut bar under hood, MP3 valve cover, Kenwood z919 or z828 stereo, subwoofer, seats with accents, NARDI Torino steering wheel and short shifter. Phew! :p

And if its still auto, write down the VIN and call Mazda to try and get the vehicle production number out of the 1500 here in the states :). Good luck.

I saw the picture on the website. It's an MP3. I think it's safe to assume that the website has a typo when it says "AUTO." I'm sure whomever types it in just clicks on the appropriate box and happened to click the wrong one.

they never made a automatic MP3. They all came the same way, 5 spds, 1000 blue and 500 yellow. The only options I think were wheel locks, cargo net for the trunk and the mazda alarm. It could have been a MP3 clone or something, but not a real deal MP3.

so wait.... there were 1500 mp3s made total? i thought they made more than that? or 1500 mp3s are here in the fourm....?

MP3 numbers

They only made 1000 blue and 500 yellow for North America. So we have a rare ride. Also I am in agreement, there is no such thing as a Automatic MP3, unless they converted it----- who the hell would do that, to such an awesome car.

So yesterday i rode up to where the mp3 is, and of course you all were right and it was stick. I took it for a test drive and everything, but i guess some kid and his dad already signed papers for it earlier that day. They put no money down or anything though, so i could still buy it but my mom's not a big fan of the 13k price tag. It was on sale for 14 and i talked em to 13, it's just not working for my mom i guess= bad as hell.

How much are you hoping to get one of these cars for if $13 is too much from a dealership? They sold new for $18500-$20000 depending on the dealership, and they are barely a couple of years old. Good luck finding one much cheaper than that.

I agree, I think anything less than $14,500 is a steal! Limited edition and barely two years old. Mostly low mileage.
