installing 17s will not screw up your car - assuming you get wheels that fit that car. One of my former co-workers owns a P5 with 19s on it and they work fine. Just make sure the wheel fits the car (check www.tirerack.com).

I am one of those people that love the stock radio (figure if I pay for the CD / Cassette combo I better use it and keep it, right?) also thanks to keeping the interior all "amber lighting". I don't think there should be a problem running amps / subs from it.

Splurge on new speakers, you'll want them to accompany your sub(s). Like all stock speakers, ours are not for serious audio applications. Hit up the Circuit City and grab yourself a set for front and year. My last car, Toyota Tercel, went from 15watts of buzzy AM radio to a concert hall after some time and money spent there....

Hey, I have my stock speakers in, and added a 10inch sub, sounds great. The amp simply connects to the rear speaker out wires. Not as good as RCA outs, but I still get very good bass coming out of it. The only down side to it is as it's connected to speaker out, it tends to pick up some background interference as it's connected to the rest of the cars electronics. But this is minor, as the bass more than drowns out the sound. Anyways if your hooking up the sub for your own enjoyment, the speaker out is fine. If your putting in a sub to show off and look gay, then get yourself a system with rca outs, but personally, if you don't like getting your car broken into all the time, stick with stock. :D
