I'm likely just anal and way too OCD. Is this enough buildup for warranty concern?

I'm just really anal about clean engine bays & stuff. I have 1200 miles til' the 60k powertrain warranty goes bye bye.

Crawled all under the engine, looked at every gasket from below and above.

The engine has not one gasket leak, no buildup anywhere except for the left side between the cylinder banks (under the engine cover).
So if you pop the cover off, look down, and slightly to the left. Or just to the right of the motor mount. There is a good bit of greasy buildup. Can't tell if it's from the head gasket or from the cooling pipe joint.

As some of you know, I keep my engine bay spotless.

Am I just ocd, would you all just ignore it and consider it normal or take it in and demand they fix whatever is causing it?

I"m like you; my engine by is spotless too. But your pic is no concern. It's likely residue oil that got overfilled or just dust that collected as part of the left over oil that dried up. No biggie in my book as it seems normal and if you get to it and whip it up; it should be fine. It is not bad considering it has 60k. My bmw x5 had the same thing at 30k and I whipped it up and never had the issue again.

Can't be a leaky head gasket or you would know about it for sure. That would more likely be anti-freeze and not only oil anyway. I agree with tom8 that it's more likely the result of overfilling.

That would drive me up a wall, my truck with 160K on it dose not have that, but I am the only person I know to power wash the bottom of my truck... I would think you should be fine, just clean it, that what I would do.

Man, you guys are particular! I've had my CX-9 for 5 months now and I can honestly say I've never popped the hood. Even before buying it. :)

I just special ordered a Shop Vac (the exact one I wanted) and waited 3 weeks for it to arrive via Site-To-Store, even though they are a' plenty in stores. Yep i'm particular.
