Last time I did it was in august 2008 when my car had 83000 miles. Fluid was not burned as I have a motorhome sized ATF cooler installed (http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...t-will-it-delay-shifting-in-winter&highlight= ). I looked at the fluid a few days ago and it is nice and red. Now the car has 153000 miles on it and I want to change the filter but do I really need to flush out with 12 quarts of ATF? Protege ATX holds 2 gallons of ATF so when I did the flush last time I flushed it with 12 quarts to make sure I flush out as much of the old fluid as possible. Does the fluid really age if it doesnt look burned?
