I'm dangerous now! Installed drop in K&N filter

03.5 MSP and 94 Cobra
I am also going to install a modified lower air box in the car to see how she responds to it...

I basically drilled a lot of holes in the side of the box that faces away from the engine... I am now thinking that I am going to make a fiberglass extension on that side that will duct air right from the same hole the CAI's install into.

Will keep posted if I get that done and post pics... just for kicks mostly, but it might be a cheap way to gain a couple more HP without actually dropping mad money on the CAI if you already have the drop in K&N panel.

Man, Idon't know what a dealer would give you hell for most...an Injen, or that setup! Of course, there's no going back to stock now!!(hand)

You're dangerous. And foolish. And that makes you even more dangerous.

/me takes off sunglasses only to reveal another pair underneath.

My stock air box is still intact and on the car, the modified one is an extra I picked up in San Antonio...

I need to leave this car alone it is just supposed to get me to work and back... somehow that is starting to slip away though...

(hah) I loved that SNL!!!

A mod is a mod. At least you used a new box.

Hmmmm, the car doesn't sound any different to me, but then I haven't installed the hacked air box yet... I can say the car feels a little less sluggish than with the original paper filter though...

The MSP is a slow car from the get go, it however does have some REALLY nice features for the price I paid... $16,600 new with tint.

I wouldn't have paid $21,000 for it which is what the MSRP is on the sticker...

I also didn't feel the need to spend $200 on a cold air intake that will still make this car a 15 second ride...

If I want to go "fast" I'll take the Cobra out for the day... (she's all stock engine-wise) for a nice handling little ride that gets better than 15 mpg I take the MSP to work...

The MSP box that I am working on is also something that won't be a cookie cutter piece that everyone can go buy and drop in their car like all the other nice little bolt on parts that anyone can get. I don't find much fun in that. This project was just to see what can be done to impriove the stock components with very little cost, just my time and a few cheap raw materials.

Ghetto? I think not... candy orange with gold flake reminds me more of the ghetto than a drilled airbox and K&N. (Don't get me wrong, I like the orange)

I like being different...
