Hey all! I am just about to get a yellow 5, and just trying to get an idea as to who in the hood as either a 5 or a Speed.

I am in the western burbs of Chicago (Naperville, Plainfield, Geneva, Lombard, etc...)

If you have a Speed or a 5, and in the area, please let me know...

There are quite a few of us Illinois/Chicagoland Protege owners on here (though I haven't gotten around to meeting any myself so far).

Where are you getting your MP5 from? I picked mine up from Countryside Mazda (though Dexter has some choice four-letter words for their service dept.).

I am in the Chicago southland (live in the Southeast side, work in the Southwest suburbs - Oak Forest).

Getting it from Biggers in Elgin. I must say that I have been dealt with very professionally, and then also very entertaining. The staff over there is great. You know, one of the sales people, who can't be over 21 (I went to high school with him) has a black C5 Vette. They obviously make some decent money over there.

Oh and as for the car, I plan to enjoy it fully!

Good deal. Just be gentle on the break-in period (kinda sucks driving a like an old-lady for 800 miles, esp. with the 5-speed).

I will try... When I got my Civic, it only lasted maybe 400 miles. But then, my mileage really sucked from that time forward up until today, 15,000 later. The car is rated 30/38 AT, and I rarely get over 25. Odd.

I have this kinda posted also in the Meet section but seeing as how me and Gabee are roomates figure I'd just mention what I came up with. I think this friday, July 11th at 9:00p.m. at the Streets of Woodfield, we'll probably cruise around schaumburg for a little while, hang out, whatever bascially we wanna do. Just let me know I wouldn't mind kinda getting a list together of some names of people, and car type/color that wanna come.

my sub blew, took it in, they didnt want to look at it because i had been "tampering" and "playing" with the dash wiring when I installed my turbo timer. how a sub and a turbo timer relate i have no clue, other than the fact they all run off the cars electrical system. meh whatever,...they kept asking me if the sub was stock too...its like .. wtf... you SELL these cars...you think you would know the mazdaspeed comes stock with a subwoofer. i dont want those goons touching my car anyways.
