Ignition switch on to off with accessory

I just learned that if you turn off the ignition (press the button) while stopped, and foot on the brake and in drive (not park) the engine goes off but all your accessories stay on. The windows still work ETC. Perhaps I am the last person to learn this.

you can also do it in neutral, don't need to press the brakes, just press the button, but it's only for the radio tho, not on the ready for ignition option.
