If I get that downpip (2.5")

could i bolt on a straight 3" stainless exhaust later on? Or will it not match good? Is 3" to much would that 2.5" be just as good if not better? aight coo peace- Also btw the exhaust setup runs down through like this right? Headers > Downpipe > exhaust with cat > muffler srry im new at this whole thing...

you could but i'de be worried about the flow change from the increase in size. you need someone that knows how exhaust works. you need to taper the pipe so that the gas flow doesn't get rough and violent.

hmm 0 backpressure is your goal with a turbo app. i, personally, would like a 3" TURBOBACK exhaust. many say that it is overkill. don't quote me, but i think recommended power for 2.5" is like 200-300hp.

alot of DSM boys run 2.5" exhaust's and they make serious power from them. its not too small nor is it just the right size, its whats available right now due to the market for these little toys.

the setup would be just fine for our cars right now. if you chose to do so later you could bolt on a bigger system and should easily be able to sell the smaller one to somebody looking to get a good deal on something that will gain them a couple more horsepower as well. seems like a pretty good deal, i just don't want to stare at the damn check engine light all the time:wtf:

I felt a loss of torque with the cat back section off so with a 3" exhaust I think it will have the same effect. I am working on a 2 1/4 DP w/o cats. I will post results

now how did that happen??? the turbo makes a shitload of back pressure.

anything under 4500 rpm was slow but above that it was faster. These cars should be tuned w/torque in mind
