Just take a look underneath. If they are closed, then they are non-functional, if not, then maybe.

They are open. And the one on the side of the intake has a large round hole and smaller squarish hole that will let air in near the stock box.
About the only things I can say at this point are my engine compartment gets more air and colder air. In my mind I'm hoping this helps in summer. I'll let you know next May.

I'm obviously not saying our cars are in the same league as those exotics. When they design those cars though, they can basically do anything they want with the styling & they chose NOT to include fogs.

It's true that the vents don't do anything to a stock MSP, but if you would have read what I said, you'd see I was talking about the same thing that Zray said. You probably also have no idea what a TT fender vent mod is, so here is the info on that:

WRXs have fogs because their styling is rally inspired. However, all I have to say is why do so many WRX owners buy fog covers & why does Subaru include them on the STi?

To clear up any confusion, I'm not putting a WRX hood scoop on my car. :wtf: is your problem with a WRC vent though? I hate the WW EVO hood & the CF hood that was going to be made with a reverse vent turned out to be crappy quality. I want to improve the flow of air out of the engine bay, but apparently the majority of people believe in form over function. 
The front vents are many times used to duct air to the front brakes. Well on exotics like those. Some of the rear engined cars have actually had the radiator up front so the front fascia would act as normal. However I think that is becoming pretty uncommon. So, yes the front fascia can be put to some use on a high end exotic, but I had to laugh my ass of the idea of the 03.5 losing some precious ponys when fog lights were installed.

My god, this is exactly what I was writing about in November. I had lots of support but no real answers. I am also putting small bright fogs in. I miss the look of my spicy front with all of the lights on as well as the add'l light while driving. As far as heat, I never had the temperature gage go above normal!!! I will post my info and pics when it's complete. C'mon Newf, DONT give up. You will love it.

I have yet to see an 03.5 lip with fogs that even looked decent. Anyone ever think about using Hella DE fogs &/or putting the fogs BEHIND the grilles. Until I see someone make it look good, I think it's a bad idea.

I can't say anything about the non-Porsche's, the Porsches pictured are all water cooled and their oil radiators and water radiators are in those vents in front. On the AWD versions of the current 911 there is also a tranny oil cooler up there.
Brake cooling ducts aren't visible in those pictures, as they are under the car. Where they should be.
