no such thing as a cheap pure bred.

my mom has 2 and one that is the boy isnt ready to mate.

regardless-keep looking but expect to pay-unless your willing to do a "favor" or know someone really, really well who is more interested in a good home for the fugly thing then in cashing in on saps

she is looking for a pug breeder, not any puppy
 I think it is obnoxious and damn shallow of people to be so obsessive about pure-bred dogs because of their looks. You get a dog to be a life companion, not as a trophy or social symbol. When people find out what hard work having a puppy and training it is, they often find themselves calling the dog stupid or rotten... or even just letting it sit in the yard and die...

Don't make a mistake and get a dog for its looks... you are making a commitment for the life of this dog to take care of and be its friend.

slightly off topic -
i am on a crusade to shoot anyone who totes their dog around in little shoulder bags like they're some fashion accessory. the one thing i can't stand is people parading around with some rat-dog (not a pug) under their arm. i've seen this s*** in restaurants, stores, places dogs should NOT be in. argh!

back on topic. my future brother-in-laws both adopted pugs from pug rescue and ended up with brother pugs. both are very cute.

yes, by all means, adopt. i'm against selling dogs in a market where longtime champion purebred breeds are being put to sleep by the thousands. and no, i'm not joking, shelters get purebreds all the time. call around. save a little doggies life.

A PUG BREEDER obviously she is looking to breed a pug with an existing dog, or so i would assume from reading her post. i am all for adopting, but adoption is a gamble. i adopted a cat that was sweet in the shelter, but once we got him home he became very aggresive, attacking my sister and mom...its something you cant really tell at the shelter, and buying a pure bred you know what ur getting, as it was bred for certain traits

lol. you guys are awesome. I agree do adopt, you would be surpised how many pure breeds go to shelters, I used to work in one.

thanks for the links guys. yea, i've adopted two dogs so far from a shelter and from a family. they are great dogs ( a cocker and an akita) but they are too big to live with me in my new apartment when i move to davis. im looking for a pug because they are small and cute. i want to get one as a puppy because i want to bring it up and raise it. also i heard that this breed of dog has a deep bark so it sounds like a big dog behind closed doors. it can protect me i guess... but yea.. wow you guys are really deep into this adopting thing. and thanks for judging me on wanting a puppy... (2thumbs)

I didn't mean to judge you or anything... I was waiting for your reply but Iwokeupfrmadrea kinda bugged me.

I'm working on becoming a volunteer at a shelter and sometimes you see what happens when a puppy seems to "out-grow" it's novelty and the person can't deal with potty training or training the dog at all. I didn't mean to imply this would be you. Obviously not as you've had other dogs before. (hear ya)

Believe me all I want is you and your new friend to be happy.

You can also check the pets section on www.craigslist.org ... finding a pug on there might be hard but you might come accross somebody who has one to give! :)

oh.. okay. i don't like to be critisized. my bad.
you should work at a shelter. it makes the homeless doggies very happy. i go to visit the dogs at my local shelter like once a month. i feel bad cause i cant adopt them all. i posted up A LOT on craig's list.. still no answer...

but yea.. i love dogs and animals. im going to uc davis to become a veterinarian.
