I'ved had my car for like a year now.I done minor mods to it like cold air intake, front lip,JDM lowering springs and now im seriously thinking of going turbo.Any ideas on were should I start and get parts from???

Ummm, I'm going to say that you're not going too far with that budget unless you manage to grab a used kit somewhere. I'm starting a turbo project myself and i have found a Hi-Boost turbo kit used for $2200! Check out http://mazda3online.web.aplus.net/index.php?cPath=281_21_31_52 there's a couple of new kits you can order.
Also do your research! Check out http://www.howstuffworks.com/framed...l=http://members.aol.com/TurboHonda/info.html
This is an excellent start if you don't know what turbos are all about. Also Google is your friend. Even if it's not mazda related turbo stuff it's all basically the same. Biggest thing is to know what you're doing before tearing into your motor or you will blow something up...lol...so READ LOTS!!!

Good luck!

im just over 1000$ in the hole with my turbo kit still have a few more small things to buy buts its pretty much stock msp kit with a ebay front mount ic

get ready for 10 tons of stress LOL

don't say i didn't warn you :D

$1500 is frankly an unreasonably low amount of money to spend for a turbo kit that is reliable, powerful, and high quality. i could put you together a $1500 turbo kit of all new ebay parts. would you want it long term? heck no. going turbo is a serious step that if done wrong WILL destroy your engine and empty your wallet. its tempting to cheap out, but the result will be maybe 50whp more and a series of headaches to follow. spend the money and do it right the first time, cannot stress that enough.

DITTO !!! Going that way will cost you in the long run. Do your research.

Lol, wow it sounds like going turbo is stressful. What does anyone suggest just to add some horse power?

Turbo? (rofl2)

seriously, turbo is the only way to get power out of this car. I would suggest getting your hands on a used MSP kit and do a couple of bolt-ons.

it might not get you to the 250hp you are looking for, but if you find a good deal, you should be around $2000 with some decent power and the potential for more if you come across more cash someday.

I spent $3700 total piecing mine together and took it off in a little over a month and sold everything for $1600. Good luck.

I got a question for those who live in Cali who have turbo'ed their car...will the car pass smog if its turbo'ed? I wanna drop a turbo kit in my P5 but i was wondering about smog and all that crap since I will have to do that in a year.

i wanna go turbo so bad, but i want to build a block and go big boost and i cant save the money to do all that. I think once i get my current loans paid off and a credit card, im going to take out a loan and do things right. otherwise i might have to piece together a MSP kit and go with 7psi. my goal with big boost would be around 12-15psi. one bad thing about me is ive already thought about selling my car, but no way i can get at least pay off for it. id love to just buy a msp or something already turbo'd

Dude, that totally sucks. I live in an apartment too but i have my parents' place to do work on. They live about 20 mins from me so i guess that's not too bad. I can also do some minor work/repairs at the side of the road by my appartement...the land loard don't care.
I hope i won't have too many issues when i install my turbo..i'm also a little worried about the installation and tuning afterwards. Once again...really sucks to hear about your situation.
I think that's a pretty sweet deal on all the stuff you're selling btw. Good luck with the sale!
